I purchased this bike used a few years ago. It's been a great bike. I have ridden in all kinds of weather conditions, and have ridden both short trips and long ones (700 plus miles). The bike is very torquey and has plenty of power. I love the power since I often take my daughter with me on rides. The seat for the rider is pretty comfortable but I have been considering a Mustang seat to increase my daughter's comfort. This particular year model is a four speed, so it is a little short legged. It has plenty of oomph on the highway but is cranking some rpms at highway speeds. The newer one have five speeds. The bike handles great for a cruiser. I am somewhat turned off by the way most cruisers today think heavier is better. I rode my friend's VTX 1800 and it was like driving a truck, just not that fun. However, my 1400 had good lean angle and is light by 1400 standards so it feels very nimble. I also have a 600 Yamaha in case I am feeling a little more sporty.

All I've had to replace is the tires (I've got a 22 Yr old, hint, hint), brakes and oil. I did replace the plugs once. The only issue I've ever had was the plugs fouling on start up after a winter season sleep. I've been thinking of buying a new one due to the 5 speed gear box. Mine only has four and I've always felt like the bike was missing one.
