After a long list of Japanese bikes I finally got to ride a friend's 1999 WR250 and all of a sudden I finally learned what other Husqvarna riders already knew. These bikes are designed and built with the rider in mind. The sheer pleasure of riding this bike was enough for me to sell my RMX250 and seek out one of these bikes. After a few months of riding I still look forward to the weekend to get out and mix it up with pretty much anything. The confidence it inspires and the forgiving nature of it's design mean that you can really push this bike and still feel safe. Do I sound convinced ... you bet I am !! My next upgrade (one day) will be to a 2004 WR250 and that should last until I quit riding. If you haven't ridden one of these, what are you waiting for ???

I recently purchased a TE610E and I have to say that I really love everything about the bike. It does everything very well. There is plenty or power and the bike gets looks everywhere I take it. I also test rode a KTM LC640 and the Husky is a far better bike for duel purpose riding. It's a great bike!... read more

The Husqvarna WR250 (Used to be called the WXE250 or the EXC250) is a really sweet bike. It is light, at about 230 with basic fluids and a Baja Designs Lighting Kit. With 110w lighting coil, I have plenty of light at night. too! Very Reliable bike.

The bike has also some rattling noises especially when cold, and when I switch it off from time to time I get a nice strong Bang in return... Not very happy about that! My dealer in Greece says it is normal for a Husky.... I have also a few oil leakages here and there on the motor.... Otherwise the bike runs strong. If proves reliable it will be the best dual purpose bike on the market.

I have also had to replace the starter relay and the rear light due to poor build quality. On the plus side the bike handles very well and returns between 50 - 60 miles per gallon. Parts can be very hard to get even from the main Husqvarna importer in the U.K. the bike has now only done 11,000km and the cam chain is starting to rattle again. Time to sell it i think and buy a KTM

I have the older bike that was been re-labled the WR 250. Mine has the 6 spd. I read another bad review below on a bike that never ran right.Mine was used, and started acting lean 3rd.time out.You would think of jetting, but that still doesn't cure.I think the fellow before me had just repaced the base gasket.(it looked brand new but was sucking air,now ) The dealer in KC MO.listed under Husqvarna is VERY accomodating & will have parts at your door in about 4 days.I can't get Yamaha or Honda parts into my local dealer that fast, its always 7 to 10 days, plus the drive. You can even change the compresion ratio a little with 3 different thickness available. If you apply Gasgesinch it will never leak again & start in 1 to 3 kicks choked & 1 kick hot. Mine now has the thick base gasket & tons of bottom end torque, while still pulling hard in 6th.to redline. It weighs in the 220's with a fantastic hiding kickstand & an FMF long stinger. Only complaint is a hard 4,5,6th gear shift. It was 8yr old & $1500. What a bargain.
