I've ridden dirt bikes a lot. I've ridden various Street Bikes; 125cc, 500cc, 750cc. I have been riding a 1200cc Tour Bike and I'm in the process of wearing out the second motor in it! I've ridden dirt bikes a lot. I've ridden various Street Bikes; 125cc, 500cc, 750cc. I have been riding a 1200cc Tour Bike and I'm in the process of wearing out the second motor in it! I never thought I'd own a Rocket. The local dealer where I get my work done had a 1999 'BUSA and talked me into giving it a test ride. "What the heck" I thought, and took it out for a spin. Yes you know the routine when test riding/driving anything. Out of the parking lot nice and easy, down the street nice and easy, around the corner and out of sight. O.K. now I'm here, let's see what this thing will do!!! I'm on a good rural road, flat and straight, giving it a little bit of muscle as I work up to 5th gear. It has 6k miles on it so it's broke in. No cars are on the road ahead. I've let the rpm walk up to 5k. This is it, time to crank it wide open!! WWAAAAANNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Unless you've ridden one, It would take a book to explain that experience!! Let's just say that now I own A Year 2000 Hayabusa, Red in color, I live in the Northwest with lots of rainfall (I ride the Tour Bike in the rain) have had the 'BUSA 17 months and I have 18k plus miles on it!! Incredible performance! You can ride it gently.. or you can be as stupid as you want. It's built for speed and yes I am glad I live in a rural area!!!!!! Ron

This is letterly translated from the original french expression (my mothertongue, sorry about that) and I believe is exactly portraying what this bike is. This is letterly translated from the original french expression (my mothertongue, sorry about that) and I believe is exactly portraying what this bike is. It looks soft, but can be the wildest thing one can ride on Earth. It is heavy on the paper, but handles like a 750 on the road, it isn't marketed in flashy-sporty-replica-something colors, but can kill any of those parrots in less than the time to say it, without even changing gear. Having been a Roadster driver for the last 25 years, I'm looking forward with an increasing level of impatience for a naked version, the top speed doesn't talks much to my sensitivity (although impressive how fast you reach it), it's more the power and the unbelievable torque you have available all around the RPM meter that impresses me. And a serious frame that doesn't behave like a sausage in each turn like most Roadsters do. What about a Bandit GSX-1300-RN ? Be the Force be with You. Eeeerk

It handles great for a big bike. Yes, it's heavy, but once it's moving, it's not very noticable. Acceleration is nothing short of impressive. Mine averages 41 miles/gallon, despite being throttled on a regular basis!... read more
