This is almost the perfect touring bike. I have ridden mine on several one thousand mile plus trips and after having switched to Mobile One oil my gas mileage has averaged over 51 miles per gallon traveling at speeds averaging 70 mph plus. The quality of the stereo system is phenomenal even wearing a full faced Arai Quantum series helment I can still hear the music at above 80 miles an hour. There are only two problem areas, one is the tires are designed more for a sports bike than a long distance tourer, hence the rapid wear. I have managed to get only about 6,000 miles per set. The second problem area is the luggage space can be somewhat lacking for carrying gear for two up long distance touring. This I don't consider a major problem. Power is more than adequate in all situations. The bike is capable of more than the 122 mph that is listed in the specs. The bike is very smooth and quiet but not does not lose its character as a motorcylce by being too quiet like the Honda Gold Wing. I have a very short wish list for improvements. One is a grab handle for placing the bike on the center stand on both sides of the bike. This would help to facilitate picking the bike up should you accidentaly drop it on it's left side. There is nothing to grab on to on the right side of the bike should you drop it. This would also provide a much needed point in which to attach tie downs when transporting the bike by trailer. Currently because of the excellent design of the fairing there is no place to attach tie down straps to safely transport the bike by trailer. I would also increase the power outlet capacity rating to accommodate the wattage required for a full heated riding apparel. Currently it is only rated at about 6 amps. The alternator is fully capable of handling 4 times that amount with plenty to spare. Over all the handling, gas milage, comfort and beauty is going to be a tough act to follow. I think that Honda's Gold Wing has just been de-throned.

This bike surprises you with how well it does so many tasks. Mechancially it has required only regular service. No oil between regular changes, 50 mpg or more. Over 11,000 miles per set of tires. The bike is extremely comfortable either solo or two up. There is plently of room for a passenger and when you need to stop aggressively the passenger's helmet doesn't smash into the rider's. The passenger is comfortable enough to enjoy going over 200 miles between stops. The luggage is easy to use and waterproof. The finish holds up well (48,000 miles). One does not expect to be able to ride the way you can in the mountains. There have been many sport riders who have been shocked to see me riding with them through the curves. This bike weighs 800 pounds but is very forgiving in the twisties. I love this bike. It is the best I have ridden in over 700,000 motorcycle miles.
