Now I can move up to 600 cc Bike ,with two wounderful years of experience.

I purchased the 250 in June and think it is a great way to start riding. I am 20 with a limited amount of money and had barely any riding skills but some know-how from my dad who used to ride. It is cheap to own, operate and insure which makes it great. After about 1500 miles so far, it does seem less exciting in terms of speed, but still fun to ride because of its size. As soon as money allows, I hope to go to 600 or 700cc. Have fun!

The Ninja 250 after a week of riding has left me wanting more power, but it has also kept me under control and within the limits of the law for the same reason. You can't dump this bike and it is a lot of fun to ride on!...

I own a 96 model. It is very quick on the street turning, is easy and handles light. Freeway driving at 65 or 70 mph no problem feels stable enough for me you can push this bike to 85mph if you wanna go faster maybe this bike is not for you but for commuting and street travel is hard to beat....

I recently purchased a 2001 model. It is good as a beginner bike. The 250 handles remarkably well for something that's been relatively unchanged for over 13 years. Its 248cc dual-overhead cam engine revs so high that it seems to be on the verge of exploding when riding it with the flow of traffic, but you quickly get used to it. In fact, the bike makes doing simple things like U-turns and moderate-speed residential riding seem to feel like a miniature race! You can't help but feel like a hero when piloting it in the twisties. With a low seat height, and light weight, it is easy to control. What the bike really lacks is power on lower gears (1,2,3). To reach a speed of 45-50 mph and to avoid over-revving, I have to up-shift all the way to the 6th gear. Also, a big design flaw in this bike is the front forks. The non-adjustable front forks are compliant and I really didn't have any complaints about it until I had to panic brake. Not only do the forks dive, you can actually bottom the front fork out while braking hard! It's not exactly a comfortable feeling. Nevertheless, considering how little it costs, and how long it has been in service, it's a strong package. Aside from the beginner, who else can use this bike? It makes a great second bike for people who want to break into sportbikes without the price-tag, or for those who don't want to take out their big expensive machine to ride to the store. With an approximate 190 mile range coming from its spacious 4.8 gallon tank, commuters and sport riders alike will revel in its long range. All in all, anybody can benefit from a bike like this. Thanks.

I've had my 2000 Ninja 250 for a year now and have loved every minute of it. This bike is PERFECT for the new rider - good looking, light, easy to maneuver, more than fast enough and best of all, relatively cheap. You might want a bigger bike eventually but the 250 can satisfy....
