I bought my Ducati ST2 last fall, when it had 18,000 miles on it. I absolutely love this bike. The seat could be a little bit more comfortable, but for the most part it is great. I love the features of the digital display. The speed and smoothness, in my opinion, is wonderful and the style is beautiful. I do have to say that the dry clutch is a little loud especially seeing that I don't have the stock cover on it, I have a vented cover. My bike has a chip and new pipes, so you can imagine how it goes and sounds, I would recommend making theses mods to any bike. The hard bags have been a huge plus, and the ease of taking them off and on is a plus. Some of my friends like the bikes look better with the bags on and some like the bike better with the bags off, even though the bracket is still there. The suspension is great, the power is great and over all I think that I made a great purchase.

When I first got the bike I took a 200 mile trip with it to get used to it, it ran superbly, the sound and feel is exhilerating, hadles superbly, the way a Sport Touring machine should. Plenty of torque to get you there in a hurry, with great looks and comfort. There are some modifications that need to be made, as well as any bike would need, I think the Corbin Saddle would greatly enhance the long distance aspect. A set of bar risers would be nice as well, aftermarket exhaust, chip, K&N Filter and possibly a 14 tooth front sprocket. The only complaints I have of this bike is the low RPM operation in gear, you constantly have to ride the clutch in traffic because of the gearing, I think a smaller front sprocket would fix that. Another thing is the lighting, stock it is not the greatest, I took the headlight apart, cleaned the film on the inside, replaced the bulb with a Sylvania Silverstar H3 and added some small driving lights under the front fairing, that has increased the lighting tremendously.

A great piece of art that I don't even have to ride to enjoy-but I do. Great around town. Low seat height and comfortable riding position combined with real wide gearing make it easy to ride and zip around. Absolutely not a long distance bike for me!!! Vibration in the bars numbs my hand and power struggles after 85 mph. The Supertrapp makes it sound like a drag bike, but in a good way. Very little steering rotation so you lean a lot, but sometimes I drag my toes. My size overwhelms the suspension. A lot of rear tire slide at stoppping. Has been very reliable and easy to maintain. Valve adjustments on a 600 are very inexpensive.

In an area the recieves harsh spring and fall weather and humid summer days northeast wisconsin could be claimed the 'proving grounds' for sport bikes. With twisty-turny town roads around the kettles and open country highways the 748 is happily at home. I ride with a group of 12 bikes. consisting of r6's, rc51, gsx1000's, 600rr, 998sps's, and one hell of a hayabusa......the 748 still takes the checkered flag. The 748 has the agility and a vast amount of power that the 998's have and still has the high reving ability that the japs have. However, the key is that the 748 is very very user friendly (considering that you have a good back and don't care about draging your knees around hair pin curves). The only problem with owning one of the greatest superbikes in Wisconsin is that it has to stored for six months. However, I keep mine in the living room next to the television....so, when the ladyfriend watches chick flicks I can stair and daze off at my bike!!! good luck guys with trying to find one!

TEMP GAUGE AND FUEL BARS-BIKE GIVES LOTS OF FEEDBACK. PARTS DIFFICULT TO GET BUT BIKE IS EASY TO CARE FOR. LIKE IT BETTER THAN THE ST4S I RODE. MUCH SMOOTHER ON THE BOTTOM END. TALL GEARING MAKES HIGHWAY RIDING 80+MPH ALL THE TIME OR IT FEELS LIKE YOUR LUGGING THE ENGINE IN 6TH. SMOOTH SUSPENSION AND A GREAT RIDE EVERY TIME.

I am starting to beleive it's the better of the two, though it is so much more expnsive I'm not sure. One just has to decide. I think once I have some time with the Ducati, it's going to be the better bike. Gobs of torque, but not easy to ride. Oh, if you're a poser, either will do, unless you get a pink Trimuph.

The monster is one of the bikes that I have always wanted, it is fantastic, it sounds great w/ high mount Termi exhaust, has a good performance, has been very reliable, and on a nice curvy road makes you feel like a rockstar. If you have ever wanted a monster, buy one. You will not regret it. I have toured with it (Its only real weak point), ridden the mountain, went two-up. The bike performs well and begs for more.

Can't beat the 24 months unlimited warranty and 24 month free maint. offered by Ducati. Comes with great hard bags, but they have butt ugly brackets. You either need to keep then on or off.
