I just bought this bike for $800 off a friend, and I've only gotten to ride it two or three times because it's so cold, but this thing rips. It rails pretty much any other bike out there and I love it. It starts right up first or second kick and handles just as well as my 2010 KX250F I love the clutch on it for some reason. The only thing I don't really like is how you have to turn off the gas petcock before you shut off the bike or it will flood instantly and won't start. I've never heard of this before but I don't think I have ever turned off the gas on any of my other bikes and had a problem with it. But overall, I love this bike. I just wish I could race it in my local series but I can't because it's bored. Overall, it's well worth the $800 I paid for it.

The YZ125 is a barn burner with some of the best power characteristics of any 125 ever produced. The 2001 YZ125 placed second in a recent review of all the YZ125's made in the last ten years! Only just beaten by the 2004 model. I got my YZ125 new in 2001 and still have it. This is the best 125 I've ever owned. It is super reliable and very strong. I've kept it completely standard apart from cosmetically. I believe that all around, YZ's are the best package available. This bike handles and turns great, it chops through the ruts effortlessly. It's very quick with excellent suspension and brakes. I recommend any YZ, but this one especially - IT'S GREAT!

i am 14years old and have been riding bikes for about 9years. i now own a yamaha yz125 2001 model and it is brilliant. i have never had any problems with the bike since i have had it but i have only owned it for 4-5 months, but then again the bike is already 2yeras old. as this bike is the 2001 model it is fitted with the 6 speed gear box. i am aware that the 02 and 03 models are fitted with the 5 speed gear boxes which i am sure are awesome. anyway back to the 01 model, the suspension is kayaba front and back and it keeps the bike sturdy through bends and small bumps. when it comes to jupming the bike is really light and on landings the suspension holds out a treat. anyone thinking of buying one don't hesitate. the yamaha yz125 is the ultimate RIDE OF YOUR LIFE.
