Where to begin; I put 72,000mi on my Hayabusa. If I didn't love it, I would of sold it long before. It was as reliable as a hammer. The only issues that I had were: the clutch slave cylinder kept leaking, I replaced the seal twice, and the whole unit once. The clutch lever sensor switch went out once(this tells the bike that the clutch is pulled in, so it will allow the bike to start). Second gear started slipping, an issue that I may have caused when I put in an aftermarket clutch that didn't fit right(I pulled it for a stock replacement), a lot of busas have lost second gear, but I think that is has a lot to do with how you treat the bike. There is a lot of torque getting slammed through that tranny, I can imagine that lack of smooth clutch work, combined with a heavy throttle hand will thrash second gear pretty good. Anyway, not a bad record of reliability in 72k of riding. I rode it almost daily, from long distance touring to twisty back roads; all in comfort and pleasure. The forks need heavier springs, and a revalve is a good idea. Otherwise, the bike is absolutely outstanding in its ability to do everything well. As a daily rider, I couldn't ask for more. After you get used to riding a busa, every other motorcycle feels like there is something wrong with it.

I got my Busa only two days ago and haven't been able to get off of it. Even at a brisk 40 degrees (that's cold in California) it's pure enjoyment. I traded my 2003 Suzuki Intruder 1500 for this Hayabusa. It's a tremendous change in style, but worth it. Even the die-hard cruisers can respect this bike. Incredibly comfortable and outstandingly responsive. I have roughly 16 years experience and this is my fourth bike. Many have said this is not for beginners. I will say that the Hayabusa is not for the IMMATURE. If you want this bike simply because it will do 180 mph without a whimper, then look at something else. Throttle control is very important. She's rock steady at 20 mph and 120 mph. If you are inexperienced, immature, and like to show off...you will get hurt on this bike. The most important bit of advice I can offer to anyone contemplating a Hayabusa is respect it. Not only for the name and reputation, but the reputation of all the other Busa riders out there.

Everyone said this is not a beginner's bike, even the maker, that's crap. This bike is so smooth and comfortable. I don't know a lot about bikes, the only bikes I rode were the training bikes on the safety course, (150 and 250 cc's), and my Hayabusa. If you are a large man, take it from me the Hayabusa is the way to go. See you all on the road.

As I rode into work this morning I marveled at how instantaneous everything is, handling at speed, roll-ons, passing this is really the ultimate expression of street-biking in a completely user friendly package. I went back and forth between getting the Busa and the Blackbird for months then I decided the second runner up is just the first loser. I deserved the best and the Busa is it. Since buying it I’ve done 12-hour day rides through the east coasts National Parks, two-up back road cruising and 180 mph interstate blasting. No matter what you want out of a streetbike the Busa has it more abundantly than any other. Most people can’t take their eyes off of it and it looks like it’s going 100 mph when its standing still. All that excess all that flash and all that power add up to the finest motorcycle available at a reasonable price.

I am a 46 old male, with a 30 years experience on motorcycles, track and weekend long drives. Speed, stability, and comfort are the things that I was looking for, before the purchase of my Busa. After a long careful look at today's market offerings, I was impressed with the technical and performance specification of the Busa. I decided to take a closer look at the dealership. After I drove one, I was sure that was the thing I was looking for.Although I am a Yamaha man by default, Suzuki is the one to have it all, in one package. I am not saying that the Busa will drag me lower in corner than my FZR1000EXUP, neither will curve a canyon road faster. But, it will blow away anything on a straight line, it is incredibly steady (I tested it up to 150mph with a passenger aboard),and it has a comfortable position for a couple of hours of touring enjoyment. Some people said that, "the hayabusa is not for beginners." I believe that everybody can ride anything, as long as they know their limits. They can get hurt equally the same, driving...a 250!. Common sense and attention should be always present, even if you ride a bicycle! If you are looking for a motorcycle, for the reasons mentioned above, then, the Hayabusa is the one to own.

Last thing this is not a bike for bigginers.

As to the power, it's pulls like a ballistic missle, handles like a bike half it's weight and is remarkabley comfortable (with helibar kit and touring windshield replacement) and get's 43 mpg to boot (with a restrained wrist). Bottom line - best machine I've ever ridden and owned.

If Speed Racer rode a bike. This would be it. The engine's in these thing's should be taken out, and buried in unmarked graves in the middle of the night.I dreamed of this bike for four years. I read all there was to read. It was all a pack of lies. This bike is not fast. Its the Devil. It wills you to brake the speed limit everytime your on it. Ride is some what comfortable for a sport bike. Although it kill's my wrist causing my hand to go numb. I did however fall for the theory that it makes for a good sport touring bike. That was a good one. On warm day's that 1300 rolls out the heat. I average 38 miles per gallon. I have little experience on bikes. Less then 4,000 miles to be exact. This bike can be ridden by a person that wasn't born on a bike. So let's just put all that to rest. So much faster then I will ever be. that's fine. I would like to see them remove some weight from it though. I removed the passenger hand rail. That shaved about ten pounds. Honest. I wish it had a digital speedometer. Under acceleration. The analog meter is a blur. Lord help me. I can't honestly comment on the over all performance. It wouldnt do the bike justice. I noticed this to. Every bike that roll's along side just has to rev up there mouse. Just to say listen Mr. Hayabusa. I have a cool slip on hun? I give em the usual nod and tell them "Beat it boy"! Ride safe Mark Out!
