I just bought our 2002 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado 1600. I rode her home last night and man am I impressed! I owned a 1998 Yamaha Virago 1100 just before this bike and it always felt like it needed a 6th gear at highway speed. So I decided I needed a bigger bike. I rode her home last night and not only is the seat height the same 28" as the Virago but the floorboards are so comfortable. I looked down, feeling like I was moving too slowly only to realize I was doing 70! No need for anymore gears! I've ridden for 12 years, have owned a Honda and now two Yamahas and hit a deer doing 60 mph. on the Virago. One dead deer and $4,000.00 later and the Virago was good as new. The Silverado makes me feel safer as well, due to the extra weight, the heavier steel tubing and the longer stance. All around I wish I had owned it all along! I don't feel you can get a better ride for the money. Mine came with a Mustang custom seat and Vance & Hines straight drags (which my Virago had as well) and I need to say, the pipes sound awesome without being obnoxious! So, if you're considering it, DONT WAIT! GET ONE NOW!!!

Over the years I have owned and ridden almost every brand of motorcycles to include the infamous Harley Davidson. While they all have their good points and of course their bad sides. I loved the power and the feel of the Harley, I feel that they are way over priced. I have always felt that if the Japanese would only build a motorcycle to fit an America rider they would make a killing selling to the America public. That time is finally here. The Yamaha Road Star Is exactly what guys like myself have been dreaming of. A big bike, retro styling, and gobs of torque. The bike looks great, handles well, and boy does it move. All my friends are envious, and I love it. You will too.

This is the best bike I have owned or have ridden!! Cost less than a HD,handles better. Has a little to quite stock pipes, but that can be changed with after market slipons or compete exhaust systems. I have had my roadstar since 7/12/02 have put 3100 miles on it to date 10/17/02. Starts easy at any outdoor temp.30-99 degrees has been what I have rode in. YOU WILL NOT MAKE A MISTAKE BY GETTING A YAMAHA ROADSTAR SILVERADO. Keep riding

After years of riding bikes such as hd, bsa, bmw, and triumphs, this is the first japanese bike I've bought. I spent alot of time on the net researching all makes and models. The Road Star fell in the area of brawn without the price. I can now state that the Road Star is the best bike I've ever rode. No bull. Excellent power, looks, handling and comfort. As for the guy that thought the seat was not comfortable, I can not disagree more. I loved my Harleys, but I just can't say enough about this bike. Ride on.

I picked up my 02 V-Star 1100 Silverado in November. I now have 3,600 miles on her and the pleasure has been all mine. I commute over 120 miles a day to work and back and I have not had any problems at all. I can't wait to take her out on a pleasure ride although even a ride to work is a pleasure on this bike. I'm over 6 feet tall and the bike fits me well. The only other bike that fit me better was the Kaw 1500 Nomad, but I didn't need a bike that big for commuting. Yamaha has always put out a great product and this bike is no exception. The fit and finish on this bike is first class and for the price you can't beat all that wonderful chrome. Do yourself a favor and buy one, you will not be sorry.
