First off there are 2 kinds or riders, the ones that dropped their bikes and the one that's gonna drop their bike. I did my dropping with a used BMW R1150R. Rode that for 5 months and put 6,000 miles on it (my commuter). Now the present. I just bought this 2003 Hayabusa that had 2.8K miles on it (silver and black with Yoshimura RS-3 pipes). I know I was blessed that I got it for a good price, (pristine condition). Rideability: This bike is not for the beginner!!! You will kill your self in a week if you do. Unless you are a very conservative driver like me and you have a reason and a will to live, like seeing my children grow up, then this bike will be for you. Not overpowering off the line, I was actually surprised that it was smooth off the first 2 gears unless you are really gassing it up. 3rd and 4th gear is the get up and go gears, and by the time you max out the 5th gear, you better be hanging on for dear life at around 165 miles/hour. 6th gear is still unattainable for me cause 5th gear already scares me at 165 m/hr. I only use 6th gear for cruising at 85 to save gas. Around the twist: very rideable around the twisty, not as agile as a 600 but a very good touring around the hills. I'm trying to make it more of a touring bike that I will used as my commuter. You have to tweak the bike to make it more comfortable. A little adjustment of the levers by dropping it lower so that you don't have to twist your wrist to brake of shift makes a big difference in your hands going numb or not. Once I get to my sweet spot position, it gets comfortable enough that my back and wrist don't hurt at all. I have ridden for 4 hours at a time, and I could have gone another 2 hours without being too uncomfortable or tired. The bike is awesome, the looks that I get and the crowd and people that come up to me wanting to talk about the bike is great. People and families that I don't even know come shake my hand and introduce themselves wanting to see the bike closer and ask questions about it, which never happened to me until I owned the BUSA. I am very satisfied with this bike. Now every time I walk into my garage and see her, I feel like she's talking to me and asking me do you want to go for a ride baby, I know you do! And in my mind, I'm like yeah baby you and me, Lets go for a RIDE!! haven't said NO to her yet!!! HEHEHE! Ride safe and God Bless.

My 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa is fun to ride. Every time I walk into the garage I get the urge to just sit on it and reminisce about my most recent venture atop the most beautiful piece of machined metal I've ever seen. My top speed on my 'Busa is 185mph on a sunny fall Saturday morning. The urge to grab a handful of throttle when you find yourself first in line at a red light and shoot off into the distance while you know that everybody behind you is staring at you in envy and awe is irresistable. If you do not have a great deal of self control then the 'Busa is not for you. I often find myself barreling along at least 30 miles over the speed limit and normally I don't even realize it.

This is the most comfortable sportbike I have ever ridden. This is probably due to the more favorable riding position. Suzuki makes one of the most reliable and mechanically sound line of super bikes. Not to mention they look better than most. My only complaint is the length and weight. If Suzuki could figure out how to safely shorten the wheel base 2.5 inches and lose fifty pounds, there would be no better bike on and off the track. Whereas right now it has gobs of power, but can't turn the way a sport bike is ment to, hense an overall rating of only 4 stars.

Let me tell you about the ride there, I got up to 180 on I-12, wide open road, the best feeling ever. My brother has a ZX-12 and he ate my dust all the way there. When we got to the beach we parked at a little gas station across the street from the beach, and we were just sitting there, my bike got a lot more attention than he did on his bike. That pretty red stood out amongst the crowd and his lime green ninja with loads and loads of chrome got maybe a few looks. (not to mention) that it may be because I am a little bit more muscular than him. But anyway I gave up my 01 GSX-R1000 with over $9000 in extras and I don't regret it a bit. Let me remind you that this bike is for grown men only!!! don't underestimate the power!!!

I mean, my pre-Busa world did not prepare me for the feeling of going 65mph to 145mph in what seemed like 50 yards. Ms. Busa's rpm's were only about 7k and her RAM air induction was just starting to (loudly) hiss sweet nothings into my ear (With lusty abandon I might add!) at one-forty-freaking-five! YIKES! It is absolutely ludicrous that this bike only costs $10,800. I'd pay 2 (maybe 3 times) that amount in a heartbeat to experience this bike. It tracks so amazingly well that it seems almost surreal. Build quality and instrumentation are excellent too. I bought a 2004 and also like the new high beam flasher and hazard light switches. Two very nice things to have. I've had other high-speed bikes such as the ZX-11 and CBR1100XX but nothing comes close to the Hayabusa. My prediction is that the Hayabusa will have a longer production run then the VMAX. What a movie...

I've put over 1,000 miles on my '03 Hayabusa, and here is my evaluation to this point. It is one extremely fun Rocket Ship to ride with very good handling thrown in. Not Ducati 999 type handling, but still very good. To me outside of the obvious drag racing application, I believe the Hayabusa to be one of motorcycles best sport touring bikes. This is one aspect that I've not seen in too many reviews. Two up with gear? No problem and power to spare. Add a Zero Gravity windshield and a set of Helibars and she is very comfortable. At cruising speeds, the rider is hard pressed to notice any vibration from the in line four, 160hp monster. With the touring saddle and beetle bag options that Corbin offers, anyone looking for a sport-touring bike needs to give the Hayabusa a strong look. Now I wouldn't want to ride from Miami to Sturgis on one, but that's the difference between "sport touring" and "touring". As for the suicide warnings I've seen in many reviews, the Hayabusa is only as dangerous as the person riding it. The Big Suzuki can be a well mannered motorcycle, even docile at times, but it's not a beginner bike. The bike requires a constant judicial management of the throttle. The Hayabusa is ALL about the throttle. This is second nature for an experienced rider, but newbie's should learn on a smaller bike before taking on the Hayabusa. All in all I am very impressed with my Hayabusa. Great power, handling, style, and price with lot's of aftermarket support. Hard combo to beat.
