I recently purchased this bike about 2 months ago and I am very satisfied with this bike. It only has 83 horsepower stock but this bike is an instrumental tool in preparing yourself for a GSXR or better. It does good burnouts with the 150/70 and also pops up easily for wheelies. At 140mph, it handles good with a 180/55 on the rear as opposed to the stock tire. Around curves, you will think that you are on a GSXR. This bike rides incredibly smooth for long rides. The only flaw with this bike is that the vibration does bother you somewhat in the handlebars. Just keep wiggling those fingers and it won't even bother you. Suzuki did a nice job and with a graphic kit, logos, and decals, this bike attracts attention.

My first bike was a brand new sherry-red 750 Four, 28 years ago, which I had to sell to get married. Time passed, I turned to sailing boats, but somehow I never got rid of that "biker" bug that - once you've had your first ride - stays with you 'till your very end. So I sold the boat and got myself a new Shadow 600, the '01 silver-colored, with lots of chrome and a carefull finish. A fine bike, but with me (97kg) and my wife (still the same one!) on the back, a little underpowered on the highways. So I went shopping again and was seriously in doubt between a Bandit and a Kat. Finally I decided for the Kat and have never been happier - what a bike!!! Mine is the '02 champagne-gold with the "baboon" tail - which, by the way, I see as far more original (sexier?) that the new '03 one, a "flat" design in my opinion. A couple of weeks ago we were gassing before a ride along the sierra and a guy in a GSXR1000 stopped by. We made up to meet at the next stop and went away, sure that he would get get us in a few minutes, a fact that never happened. As we later reasoned while nursing some beers: in a twisty uphill road, not even a Busa will get by a GSXF750 (that's the way the Katana is called here in Brazil). I'm 58 now, and this is probably my final bike, but have no trouble to declare: this is definitely a superb one, smooth to handle & ride, but also breathtaking when you open that throttle!! - a real jewel...

I've gotten back in the saddle after a ten-year break. I gave the 'What bike?' question lots of thought. I read lots of reviews and talked to lots of people. Eventually, I settled on a new 2003 Suzuki Katana 750. Thankfully, I didn't pay too much heed to the barrage of modern-day bike journos that seem to malign the Kat for not being a cutting edge crotch rocket. I've had the bike now for a few months and I'm more than pleased with my decision. It's comfortable, has plenty of 'real world' useable power, stops well and has nice neutral handling. And it's darn cheap to boot. I fitted a taller tinted screen, which works a treat and got myself a set of soft panniers - job complete. I use the bike for daily commuting and the odd weekend blast with friends. I'm really happy with the thing and I'll be keeping it for a while. Mine has the mettalic grey/silver finish and it looks great ... had lots of people come up and admire it. So far, comments from most biking people that have spotted the bike and had a chat have been really positive. Despite what lots of journos say, the 750 Katana seems to have a pretty sound reputation in my quarter of the biking world. Only one funny look so far from a Fireblade devotee - each to his/her own, I guess. All in all, the 750 Katana is an attractive and able performer. Throw in the issue of comparative price and it shines even more. It's defintely a hard one to ignore.
