I only had the bike about four days now. I've put about 120 miles on it since I picked it up. I had an 2007 Virago 250 that I rode for years. It was a great starter bike. i just finally found a bike that I liked just as well that was bigger.

I have had my V Star for 6 months. I already have 7K miles on it. I love everything about this bike. It handles well. Accelerates well. Stops well. And looks great too! Yamaha has a real winner here. I commute 50 miles a day and find it can cruise on the freeway at 75 mph all day long. It handles great on the twisties too. (my favorite). I see no reason to ever get a larger displacment bike. My V Star does everything I need it to do and more.

An awesome bike to look at and to ride. While the stock pipes leave a little to be desired soundwise, the addition of custom Cobra pipes gives the V Star Silverado the big bike sound. This is a great bike for women given its low seat height and its ease in handling. Lots of chrome and the studded leather saddle bags and windshield adds to its beautiful appearance.

If one is wanting a bike to drive across the country, then this is the wrong bike. But for city driving, or just crusing the weekends or after work, back & forth to work 10 or 15 miles a day, this is a great bike choice. Great gas mileage (50), superior handling, & plenty of power. Not to mention "shaft drive", which is almost maintenance free. For a short person, 5' to 5'7", the VStar custom is perfect, one of the lowest seat heights you can find in a bike this size. Yes, I do like the clutch better in the Honda Spirit or ace, but with the shaft drive & low seat height, this is a great fit. I believe foks sometimes underestimate how important it is to have control over the bike at a stop, what I mean by that is feet flat on the pavement with ease. More important than power for the long run. Besides, crusing on the back roads on a 600 mi trip at 55-65 mph is a lot more fun than cruising the interstates at 80. You can't stop at flea markets doing 80 on I95. Or watermelon stands.

Bought my Vstar Silverado on eBay. Rode it 650 miles home. Great ride, low-slung, heavy-looking but very manageable. Classy, I get tons of compliments. 50+ mpg. Comfy seat, awesome sound (jardine pipes), lots of chrome (stock), have to tolerate the vibration (V-twin), plentiful accessories, a dream bike for budget-minded biker. Vroom Vroom Vroom...

I have owned my clasic for 3 years now and I have owned other bikes but for the cost and very little maint I have put in this bike it is great. I am 5' 6" and this is the right size and power to spare. We do a lot of riding in the hills and never a problem. Oh and the gas milage is around 45 per gal.

NIce bike, but with a 649cc motor, it's a little on the slow side. Great cruiser--ride in style!!! Not a lot of power...

I have had my bike since march 2002. The fit and finish is awesome. I added vance and hines cruizer pipes had it rejetted runs great and strong. Plenty power for highway riding 2 up. I weigh 195 and my wife about 160, tall girl not fat. Looks and feels like a much bigger bike light enough for the twisties keeps up with the harleys.

I LOVE MY BIKE. I GOT IT IN SEPT. OF LAST YEAR. THIS IS THE FIRST ONE THAT I HAVE OWNED. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH IT IS LEARNING TO USE THE CLUTCH. THERE IS NO PLAY IN IT WATCH SO EVER. BUT NOW I WOULD NOT TRADE IT FOR ANY THING. I TOOK THE BACK SEAT OFF AND PUT THE SOLO RAIL ON IT AND PUT THE RACK ON THE BACK FENDER. I PUT NEW PIPES AND A SPOTLIGHT BAR, FRONT FENDER TRIM. EVERYONE THAT SEES IT THINKS IT IS THE PRETTYEST ONE THEY HAVE SEEN.
