I should point out that I only had the bike for a few months before I out grew the ride. (I moved up to the 1600 Vulcan). It was slightly under powered in my opinion, though I've known many who feel fine riding two-up with a windshield on the interstate. The stock seat could have been a bit more comfortable too, but fine for moving around town.

I bought my bike the first week of September 2004. I grew up riding dirt bikes, but this was my first street bike. I did a lot of research on the Internet before the purchase and I sat on a lot of bikes old and new. I was most impressed with the VN800 Classic on paper and in person. It's got way more accelleration than you'd expect. It actually gets off the line faster than my friend's VN1500 and he only has the edge once we're over 60 mph. It handles very well and is pretty comfortable. It doesn't like the cold, but 2 minutes of warm-up takes care of that. It's a really fun, comfortable bike.

It took me some time to get used to the bigger size. I made some adjustments, and additions to the bike and I must say I am very very pleased with it. The 800B cruises along on the highway great and although I am a big man, it carries me very well. Get this bike! You will love it!

When sitting on the Aero, I felt like I could easily drop the bike if the handlebars were turned just slightly. I felt like I had total control of the Vulcan. That was the main selling point for me. I previously owned a 2001 Honda Shadow VLX, and the Vulcan is much easier to control than the VLX was for me. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone, and it is definitley a great bike for women, like myself (or anyone) who might want something not too big and not too small.

It has great balance, plenty of power and is so smooth that only the mellow notes at idle tell you it's purring. I'm particular about fit and finish on any big-ticket item and the Classic once again proved to to be a winner. It has a lot of stock chrome right out of the box and of course tons of available goodies with which to customize. For my situation (price, beginning rider, no immediate upgrade, comfort, performance and dependability) I hit the nail on the head! I'm so glad that the originally ordered Canyon Silver was unavailable and I got a great blue one instead. Worth every penny!

However, after a few trips over 50 miles, it was apparent the stock seat would have to go. I replaced it with a Mustang Wide Vintage, and that did the trick. Now it is comfortable all day long. The bike has great torque - surprising for its size class. For the price, Kawasaki was very generous with this bike - great looks and performance.

It is easy to jump right on and drive, I had not ridden a motorcycle in 8 years (and never owned one) and was able to jump right on it and go, has good usable power, that won't get you in trouble. Will cruise easily at 60 and above. This bike is so user friendly I really am in awe of how easy it was to get used to, in 30 minutes I felt like I had been driving it for years. A great bike for someone who wants a first time cruiser that doesn't want to upgrade soon.

I bought my 2004 Vulcan Classic a few months back, did a lot of research of other bikes and found for the money it was the best deal. The bike has a low center of gravity and the big wide tires give it a good grip to the road. The seat is very comfortable for being stock and if you have a passenger there is plenty of area for them also. The bike is very stable and easy to ride at all speeds. It also has a lot of after market parts avaiable for it, which means you can make this bike fit your style for a reasonable cost. The only downside to the bike is there is too much black and not enough chrome, but a lot of friends have the metric cruiser style bikes by different manufacture's and a lot of their parts are plastic. The Vulcan Classic 800 is almost all metal and is put together very well. Once again for the price and the quality, if you are looking for a metric cruiser, this is the one for you.
