I got my license at the end of last summer, didn't have a bike yet so I rode my sister's 2001 V-Star Classic. I felt totally comfortable on it. It fit my frame well and was not too heavy for me. I just bought a bike for myself, the 2004 V-star Silverado. Love it, just like the picture, red and black. I did take the bags and passenger set off, gives it a much cleaner look. No one believes it's only a 650, as the size of the bike is so impressive. The shifting is so smooth, I heel shift so I love that it has floor boards.

I bought my V-Star 650 Silverado last year as a first motorcycle for a brand new rider. One of the instructors at my safety riding class suggested this as a possible first bike. I love the looks of the bike and the ride is just as nice. I ride with Harley Owners mostly and have been told I need to get a Harley. I believe I have a great bike and one I'm not ready to change - I could afford a new Harley - I just like my Silverado too much. I'll wait until I need a new bike because of the miles - not because of the name.

It's a great bike to ease back into riding. Bike is very reliable, performance is excellent. Bike did well on city and highway roads, but lacked size and weight for freeway. Comfortable for rider and passenger. Received many compliments on style and appearance of bike. I put 6,000 miles on bike, now trading up to 2005 Road Star Silverado.

I chose this bike to get back into riding after about 20 years. I looked at the Honda 750 but the 650 Silverado looked and felt better. It has good power but could use a 6th gear. You can't beat the features for the price. I added the engine guards and passing lamps otherwise this bike was ready to go off the showroom floor. A great ride!!

Nice looking bike right off of the dealer floor. Plenty of aftermarket upgrade parts to make your V Star really stand out. Price was definately a big draw, but the real sell for me was the overall feel of the bike. Looks a lot bigger than it feels. Easy to maneuver and the low seat height is just what I was looking for.

This motorcycle is a true joy to ride. I can't get enough riding time in. It turns heads everywhere that I go and is easy to maneuver in stop and go traffic. The clutch is light and easy to hold and the motorcycle is very quick from a stop. Not the best choice if you are an interstate type of rider, but for daily riding or riding in traffic...perfect.

After riding many miles I began to realize that I hardly ever got over 65 mph. Almost all my time was spent around 50-55 mph on back roads and in town. So why wrestle a large heavy bike built for the interstate? My 650 Silverado is perfect for the way most people ride, most of the time. Well balanced and nimble, this one is a blast to ride. Air cooled, shaft driven, reduced maintence requirements, low seat height, bags and a windshield, what's not to like? The engine does make some noise however. The valves use solid lifters not hydraulic like the big bikes. This takes some getting use to but is not a big deal. The "V-Twin" also vibrates more than a four cylinder. So what. This is a great ride for anyone.
