This is one of the finest machines that I have ever been privileged enough to own. I am, or should I say, WAS traditionally loyal to a different brand's model, but after getting this bike at a great deal I will never be able to go back. The handling and race inspired features cannot be matched. Power throughout the powerband will impress and the overall look of the beast is intense. I would recommend this bike to any rider w/ experience and would definitely purchase another CBR 1000RR in the future. Ride safe and keep the sticky side down!

I figured I would post my review now to praise the 05 1000RR on her reliability as well as her top performance. I have put 25k miles on my 1000RR and aside from regular maintenance, and changing the clutch plates 1 time (after 2 hard seasons of drag racing thrown in there along with all the other hard riding I do) she still runs just as strong as the day I brought her home. You can't beat Honda reliability if you take care of your bike properly. If you are thinking of buying one you will not be disappointed.

So far this is an excellent bike. It can do everything that a 750 or a 1000 does and can still keep up with them. The low end is a bit slow but above 6000rpm when both injectors are open you better hold on. When you get to 13000 - 15000 you are screaming on that bike. I loved my 87 VFR and the torque it provided and other than some street legal 2 strokes I would have to say that the 'get up and go' of the V motors far outweighs the top end speed for me. If I wanted that I would add NOS anyway. My previous bike was the venerable ZX-11 which was a nice bike, but my RC51 blows the doors off it for overall uniqueness and desire to keep it until I die (NOT ON THE RC). This bike has made me start to shop for the RC45 and RC30 as well just to make a collection for myself. One thing I absolutely love is with very little money, you can eat Ducatti's alive! :)

This is my first Sportbike, and I was criticized for buying a 600rr as my first. But I must say that this bike is just amazing. If you have good self control this is not a bad starter. The low-end is a bit sluggish which is to be expected, but mid and high it shines. I live for the twisties and I can easily outpace my riding buddies who are on gsx-r 750s and 1000rr's. The combination of light weight and low center of gravity makes this thing just rediculous in the corners. A lot of complaints on here for the seat, but this isn't a problem for me. I've done several 400+ mile rides with little pain. With the seating position it is easy to put too much pressure on the handlebars which makes my wrists sore..but this is just a matter of breaking the habit. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Having driven R6's and ZX-6R's I would would by far give this bike the win. With a race tuned suspension and a power curve that just doesn't give this thing will own your buddy's in the corners. I ride 45min. to work and it might not be a truly comfortable ride with the hard seat but it's worth every minute. I plan on making this my track/race bike because of the way it tears through corners and allows me to drag that knee. 5 Stars w/o a doubt.

I bought this bike in Sept of 06. This is my first bike since I was 18. I am now 35 and everyone including the salesman was trying to talk me out of a liter bike. To be honest, I went to dealership ready to by a Bright Yellow ZX-10. But my wife pointed me in the direction of the Red/Black CBR. I thought that color combo was amazing. After test riding both bikes I chose the Honda. The Honda felt more comfortable at the time, granted it was less than a half mile test ride. Let me start by saying if you are looking for a liter bike and are like my self either new to riding or haven't rode for a long time? This is the bike. The CBR is very tame but still has more than enough power to keep up with any other bike on the road. But don't be fooled, I have had this bike up to 94 mph in 1st gear! I love the Honda Electronic Steering Dampner or HESD. This is my first sport bike in over 17 years so I wanted it done automatic. It has worked flawlessly. I had had it up to 140 mph and noticed NO head shake. Secondly, appearance wise the bike is absolutly beautiful! I can't tell you how many times a day I get compliments on how nice my bike is. The color pops out at you! And that aluminum rear swingarm looks amazing. The best feature is the huge HONDA under the bottom faring. And the bike is as comfortable as I would except for a sport bike. Let's face it, you don't by these bike for comfort. My wife does say that the rear seat is almost unbearable. Overall, I would go with Honda again!!
