2007 Honda Cruiser reviews

I got this bike in the summer of 2010 with zero miles. Since then, I have put a few miles on it without any problems. I had to get used to sitting up (switched from sport bike). All of my riding friends love my bike! I only wish it had a gas gauge. Show less

It really is a fun bike to ride, the bike inspires confidence. Wind - It's a naked bike, be reasonable this bike is not at home for 6-8 hours on the interstate, but it certainly can be done and I have done it. Power - It is geared just about perfect and it acts well mannered in town and has plenty of power on the twisties. Value - This bike is probably impossible to beat for the money. Seat - Stock seat starts to hurt me after about 100-150 miles, a quick gas stop or restroom break and I'm OK again. Maintenance - Everything is easy and as far as bikes go, affordable. Show less

I changed my 2005 Honda VTX 1300 and I had it for five years and no problems with the bike. But I always wanted a 919, finally I have it and is great. The only problem is after riding for more than an hour or more at 70 mph., I am sore on my shoulders. Maybe I need to adjust my position or get some kind of windshield. Show less

I went from an old '81 KZ 1000 to this and was pleased with what a couple decades worth of technology can bring to bikes. There were a couple things I had to change about the bike before I could say I loved it. First off - the seat. The stock seat was brutal. It looked OK but after an hour in the saddle, I was looking to find a nice soft brick to sit on. I put on an Ultimate Mid Rider seat and that saved the day and my butt. I also added risers to bring the bars up and back some. In addition to those I added some nice cruise pegs for that stretched out ride. With those changes designed to keep me comfy in the saddle, I can pile up miles for sure. Having to change a seat, add risers and a cruise pegs to make it more comfy is why I scored it a 4/5 in comfort. Some folks may love the stock setup...it was not for me. Reliability has been great. It has never let me down or left me stranded. The only issue I had was a blinker messing up and that was due to me mucking about with the wiring. The tail light blew as well but a wear item is a wear item. For performance, it is adequate. It is less powerful than the old KZ 1000 I had, but a lot of bikes are. The VTX 1300 will not win many drag races but it is a torquey motor and has plenty of get up and go. Just remember it is a cruiser and you will be happy. The 1800 is a different beast altogether. The quality of the bike is pretty high for sure. Too much plastic chrome but it does cut down on weight. All in all this is a sexy looking bike with nice power and Honda reliability. You can't really go wrong. Show less

I bought the bike new, out of the crate, in July of 2010. The dealer had several that have been in storage since 2007. It's my first bike and I couldn't be happier with it. It's very comfortable (something I understand that used to be a problem). I've only had the bike for 2-1/2 months, but so far the quality and performance have been great. I get about 45 mpg and take it everywhere. It's a big bike, but easy to ride, with a low center of gravity. It corners well, accelerates well, and is heavy enough to feel totally in control on the windiest of days. I have no problem carrying my wife around on back either, with no loss of power or control. And I love the full foot rests and the heel/toe shifter. I get a lot of compliments on its looks too - I have the black 1300R. No real complaints so far. It's only been a couple months, but I can see having this bike a long time. Show less

I have owned this bike for just over two years and it has been amazing. After 14,000 miles I have never had any issues with it and the only time it sees the shop is for scheduled service and custom parts. The stock seat is fine for the average rider but it gets uncomfortable after you go 300 miles in a day so I switched it out for a Mustang seat and have had no issues with the comfort since. I highly recommend this bike to anyone that loves to put some miles on a bike without breakdowns and headaches. The power is there and so is the handling. Show less

I have a 2007 VTX 1300 C. Bought it new; love it, love it, love it. Not only a pretty pearl white, but I have the Honda saddle bags and put risers on the handle bars (I was born to be short, sometimes you gotta make adjustments). I rode without them for the first year or so but now, it is so comfortable. Great to handle, good on the tight turns on the country roads, and rumbles through the streets of the city. I have had more compliments on my bike than I can count. The comfort is unreal. I'm heading to the 60 year old mark, but I'm hoping to keep riding forever! Especially on my VTX. Show less

Cons- 1. wire wheels suck they need tubes and are hard to clean 2. 3.7 gallon tank sucks for longer trips 3. Stock seat, double sucks-YOU MUST GET RID or modify it Well my complaining is over about the bike. If you can live with that, then you may have the perfect all around bike with some simple modifications. Pros 1. Awesome cool retro look 2. Smooth and agile around town and decent on the turnpike with one person aboard 3. Super mileage, I get 45-65 mpg 4. Good brakes 5. Reliable as hell I came to this bike because of the low seat height and it's so easy to push around. I had a Honda Pacific Coast and it was so top heavy that this bike feels like a toy. And a toy is fun. I don't go around all the time feeling unbalanced but the bike is a part of me and I can really enjoy it knowing I won't drop it. Show less

Bought this '07 new in March of '08. Have loved every second in the saddle. Very comfortable on the long haul. Excellent power to weight ratio. Getting to 90+ on the interstate is no problem, even with my wife on the back. Nothing but compliments every where I go, on the looks and sound of my VTX. Show less

Spent quite a bit of time looking at bikes before purchase. Very happy with the quality and price at purchase. I do have the rattle from the fuel tank but very rarely and it is the stock seat that prevents me from rating comfort at 5. Otherwise, the performance and styling of this bike beats most bikes I see on the road and at half the price of most HD motorcycles. I have to give a thumbs up to the dealership as they have been very accomodating for service since purchase and are always helpful. I brought my bike out to Virginia Beach this summer and trekked down to Kitty Hawk, NC a number of times. I am only sorry I was unable to ride the Dragon's Tail this summer but I will get back. I get great comments on the bike and styling and I love the metallic blue, since most of my friends have black bikes and it sticks out. It is finicky in cold weather, but like almost everyone says, once warmed up it is always fine and provides great power for the weight. Would buy another Honda without giving it a second thought.
