With that said, I am not getting rid of this bike no time soon.

It's my second sportbike and it's no doubt my fav so far. It's fast, fun, sounds great, looks great, feels great, etc. I ride with a lot of liter bikes and 750's and have zero problem keeping up. It has a prefect match of power, speed, cornering and braking to suit the inexperienced to most experienced riders. I definitely recommend this bike to anyone as a first bike and I plan on having mine for a long time. It has plenty of power in every gear and will bring the front wheel up in first gear if you are not careful.

I bought a 2007 Yamaha YZF R600S in June of 2008. It was cheaper because of the fact it was leftover from the year before, but because I didn't feel like paying a lot for my first bike, I ended up picking it. I am very impressed with the whole bike. It is very reliable and the performance is nothing to laugh at. I have ridden it a lot since I got it. I went on two long distance trips; one to Vermont from Connecticut and another to Massachusetts and back. I also meet with the locals on Sunday mornings and we go pretty fast through the backroads in New York. It keeps up with other 600s without a problem and even gives my friend's 750 a run for his money. It is excellent in the handling department and it starts every time I hit that button on the bars. It really is a great bike for the money. If you are thinking about buying a beginner's bike that has enough gusto to stay with the big boys, then I would definitely recommend the Yamaha YZF-R6S.

This is my first sportbike and I put more miles on it in three months than I did in three years on my cruiser. It is great around town, super nimble and so much fun to ride. I get 44-48 MPG. The fingers do get a little numb after 40 or so miles at 80mph, but it's nothing to complain about. I am completely satisfied with this bike!

I can't say that I will ever be able to use it to its full potential even stock. Plenty of bike. Great bike for experienced or beginners, just a great bike.

I have so much fun on it and get a lot of compliments. Oh and let me tell you if you want to be noticed even more, or if you just like the smell of it, fuel up your tank with racing fuel. It is about 103 octane, it is more expensive, and hard to find, but it's worth it, plus it is only a 5.5 gallon tank.

The bike handles as good as if not better than any bike on the market. It pulls hard in all gears with a sweet note, even stock. The bike is great in the canyons and very comfortable. Compared to the price and minimal performance gains, this bike is a much better bargain than the top tier 600s. Even though Yamaha brought out a new R6 in 06, this bike is still an awesome looking bike with great performance. Bought it two months ago and so far I have 2,500 miles on it, mainly through canyons.

I have been drooling over the R6S for over 4 years, back when it was the R6. I was finally in a position to get one a few weeks ago and as my dealer told me, it has changed my life. The odometer reflects my total riding experience, which needless to say makes me a newbie. But there is something intuitive about this bike that makes me feel more like I am working with it rather than controlling it. It is far and away the most attractive sport bike I have seen, exceeding in my opinion even its bigger brothers the R6 & R1. Although I am disappointed that Yamaha removed the Raven color scheme for the 2007 models, my disappointment fades quickly when I realize just how beautiful the deeper blue, complimented by sleek white and gray, really is. This bike has the most aggressive styling of any motorcycle in the 600 class, bar none. As far as performance, four words sum it up: dont forget to breath! Acceleration is eye watering and there really is nothing more satisfying then feeling the weight come of the front shocks. It is the closest feeling to flying you can get while still on the ground. Braking is smooth and quick. On the back roads of Clemson it carves, although I still have not gotten to the level where I am comfortable enough to really lean it over yet. About half of my riding is done with my fiance. The only noticeable difference is during slow speed starts (i.e. red light, bumper to bumper traffic) and even that is not a problem what so ever. Comfort was the main reason we picked the R6S over the R6, the other reason being our limited experience. We regularly ride the lightly trafficked highways of South Carolina for an hour or more without any complaints. I will admit that this bike may not be the best choice for a new rider, but it is only on the grounds that many new riders simply do not understand how to respect such a powerful and responsive machine. That is not to say they are irresponsible. It just means that until you have the experience a bike like the R6S can quickly get away from you if you are not constantly reminding yourself to keep it under control. Many times I have literally told myself to just relax and that I will have all the time in the world to push it once I have got the miles behind me to do it safely. I will probably keep this bike forever. And with my fiance learning to ride this summer, she will probably end up getting an R6S too. I honestly believe it is one of the greatest bikes out there, of any cc class, and in any price range. It is beautiful, comfortable, affordable, and will set the pace or keep the pace with almost any other bike to date.
