Just what part of "BEAST" didn't you understand? It's huge. It's heavy but I, for one, have had no problems with moving it around, by pushing it with my feet, at times. Sure can't say that about a harley! Terain' up the highway, like a big 'ol DINOSAUR! Right there, in the dictionary, where it says TORQUE, you'll find a picture of this machine - full-color, high-res, quarter page! This one DELIVERS THE GOODS, like no other. I've ridden them all and owned, more than a few of them. Moving west out of a little town called Brazil, Indiana, wifie on the pillion, I shifted it into second gear. I opened the throttle about 1/3. Within two seconds we were doing 60! On a road we call the old Paris (il) highway I put her into a few turns. She's all Suzuki, that's for sure. Turns marked at 45 were entered at 60, exited around 75. Just a little pull on the bars then, when she just starts to turn, lean in, just like you always do. HOOPIE! She leaned 'way over but never drug the pavement. What a blast! As icing on the cake, she makes v-twin noises that would make a panhead jealous. She pulls hard and, with dual overhead cams, she revs right to about 7.500. The motor just sings. She's glad to be alive. You will be, too :)

All were quality bikes and I have to say that the Suzuki M109R is even more of a Beast then the VTX's were. The 98 Valkyrie was so smooth that it can't be compared in anything but weight. The M109R is a heavy bike and that's what keeps it stable at higher speeds. I won't disclose the highest speed I traveled on it but lets just say that triple digits are so easy to obtain on this Beast that it's just a simple twist of the throttle, and you're there. Very comfortable on long rides and if you get the right windshield (although pricey), it's worth it's weight in gold the first time it stops a rock or other debri from hitting you in the cheek or anywhere else and of course for the wind protection. It's unlikely you're reading this if you're not an experienced rider but I do need to say that this is NOT a beginners bike (Period)!

I did 900 km. one day and wrist, back and derrier were numb. I did have trouble with ISC-V and replaced it. I check gixxer forums for issues with the ISC, regulator/rectifier and rough idle. It's apparently an issue with '07 and '08. Overall, I am happy with this baby.

I have been on the same terrain as the KTM adventures and the BMW GS's. My V-Strom cost a fraction of what those cost. Once you farkle it out, there's no stopping it. The V-Strom wasn't intended to be a dirt bike but it comes pretty close. After riding it offroad, go eat up the miles on the slab. The V-Strom is a superb all around motorcycle.

One-up or two-up, the bike has plenty of power and room for every kind of road. The handling is also superb. Seating position is upright and easy on the arms, legs and back. Because it's so light, it's great as a commuter, too. I have riden mine in all kinds of weather including snow. I am amazed at how well the OEM tires perform on this bike. I laugh at rainy days.

It's scary fast, more power than you can use and handles like a dream, very smooth power and handling. I love this bike but it's no good for doubling. I bought the back seat for it to take my 12-year-old on it. We went for a couple of hour drive and he acted like an old man getting off of the back of it. But for one person, it's the total package.

I'm adding a tall-Givi windshield and the Madstad bracket gives superb wind protection. My next upgrade will be the seat, and then I'm done. This bike has a superb engine with smooth, excellent response. It has more power than I'll ever use. The handling is very good. The overall fit and finish is very good. After 3000 miles, I am very pleased. It is a fun ride - perfect for Appalachian mountain roads.

HOWEVER, if you're looking for a good regular-sit-up riding position bike that is a great in-town commuter, great handling, and pretty comfortable on day or weekend trips, this IS the one. Oh did I mention, 55 miles to the gallon too? It's a jack-of-all-trades master-of-none machine and great motorcycle! You'll like it!
