Before I bought my 2012 cbr250r I was riding an 02 yzf R1. The cbr is the 9th bike I have owned. I live in Chicago and for the city the cbr250r is perfect. Having an R1 in the city sucks because you can easily take it to 50mph in just first gear. It's litterally a bull in a china shop although the R1 is probably my favorite bike ever. The cbr250r is fun for experienced riders in a city setting because it's relatively fast and extremely nimble and you still can work through the gears. I think the honda cbr250r would put a smile on any expirienced riders face especially in a city setting. I've riden it out of state but with the thin tires, and the lack of ability to overtake vehicles at over 70mph a bigger motorcycle would be more comfortable. For what the cbr250r is its a grèat buy for every penny. I would recommend it for both begining riders and more experience rider's.

Very disappointing that the manufacturing was returned to Japan. I would not have purchased if I had discovered this prior to buying. I am very pleased overall with the handling, reliability, comfort, GPS system, audio system and all the options that are either standard or optional. Although I mentioned the handling is excellent, it does have one very nasty quirk. At around 40 miles per hour, the front end wants to wobble and if you hit a bump in the road that wobble is extremely severe. I have contacted a Dealer and it was inspected. The results of the inspection was very disappointing as I was told that everything is tight and there is nothing wrong with tires or any other visual problem. The Dealer Mechanic agreed that it has the wobble (Death Wobble is my term for it) but says Honda has no plan to prevent it and that I am just to hold on tight to the handlebars. That doesn't sound like a solution to me. I just wonder if some of the totalled bikes I've seen were caused by this?

I had this for about a year and a half before I sold it to move on to a bigger bike. It was great fun and the perfect engine for around town. I used to do regular 5+ hour trips on the bike and it was perfectly fine on the open road but lacked that little bit of 'oomph' to overtake safely. My only complaint on these journeys was the hard seat so I got it redone and extra padding was added! The suspension was perfect for someone of my weight, I wouldn't recommend going 2-up unless your number 2 likes having a sore backside (my wife complained a lot). Fuel economy is good, about 3.5L/100KM. A 12L tank seems a bit small considering the Chinese clone of this bike has an extra 4L on it but not too much of a bother if you do most of your miles around town.

I recently purchased a 2013 Honda Interstate and I really love the bike. I am new to riding so, initially I purchased a Honda CTX 700. It was a great bike, but I felt like the automatic bike took away the joy of learning how to change gears, so after completing riding school, I purchased the Interstate. It shifts gears easily and is very forgiving. There is some vibration and buffeting because of the windshield, but outside of that it is awesome. At first glance the Interstate looks like a Harley Soft-tail, but this bike stands alone and is a joy to ride.

This bike truly lives up the the hype and the lack of inventory at dealers shows it. The DCT model works great and sales are now 50-50, but the 6 speed standard that I opted for is a bit quicker with slightly better mileage and power. I'm getting 69 at sea level with conservative all-around riding. People are reporting much higher numbers once it breaks in. The engine is excellent with good power. The low rev limit is not a problem unless you are a sports bike rider and used to 13k redline. I've never hit it once and I don't even pay attention to the tach anymore. The low rev limit is blown way out of proportion by some editors. It is so nice to have all the power instantly on tap where you use it all the time. Honda reports 0-75 mph. time is shorter than a CBR600 in an early press release. The front brake is excellent with very good feel. Suspension is very good with good dampening without feeling mushy. Stock windscreen in the upper position isn't that bad actually. The optional tall windscreen reportedly has a lot of noise/turbulence directed at your helmet. On the highway the bike is rock solid stable and purrs along at any speed. It's a very, very confident ride on the highway. The rear seat gas nozzle and storage trunk work great and the balance of the bike is outstanding. Honda took several years designing this bike with members of their automotive division and the care and thought involved shows. It's truly a new age universal Japanese motorcycle that people have been asking for. that's why it's already been enormously successful worldwide.
