I brought my 2016 Voyager 1700 ABS new out of box, I make a 5K miles round trip starting in Houston, Tx to Chicago, Charleston S.C. Birmingham Alabama and home, the Bike rode comfortable never felt fatigued or strained. One leg of the trip from Baton Rogue La to Houston was in steady heavy rain and the ride was as secure as riding in my car, minus the roof of course. I hand the right gear for rain or cold weather but never had a worry about the Bike's performance. I added slip-ons exhaust in 2020 and it greatly improves the power band in all gear ranges. Best bang for the Buck no doubt.

Great motorcycle for Columbus. The touring Versys 650 LT model can gobble up highway miles and get you anywhere in the Midwest quickly. Once you get where you are going the Versys can carve up the back roads like a sports tourer. The engine is sweet and loves to rev. The suspension with the adjustable Showa shocks gives the best ride in its class.

The Kawasaki Vulcan S is a great pick for a starter bike. It's been reliable and fun so far, and I'm nearing the 600 mile break in period. The 650 engine out of the Ninja and Versys is re-tuned for a cruiser bike, but the speed and handling are still there. I've taken the motorcycle on a 5 and a half hour ride round trip and felt no discomfort, though I must say that I have the standard Ergo Fit package so your experience may vary. My friend bought a 2004 Rebel 250, a 2017 Rebel 300, and a 2014 CBR250R all due to the fact that he didn't feel like he had enough power. Starting with a 650 that handles as well as the Vulcan S remedies that, and I can guarantee as a starter you won't regret the pick.
