I bought this R1200GSA motorcycle when a friend sold it to me nearly six years ago. I took his word that it it is the best on the market, and I agree with him. It can do it all: Touring (2 up too), Virginia twisty mountain roads, gravel roads, and off road. Took the Pine Barrons Dirt 101 course with it in NJ and it performed remarkably. (While it can handle anything, I don't think I'll attempt single track or deep sand with it again though!) Did over half of the Mid-Atlantic BDR on it, and it was great. Finally, maintenance: this bike is easier to maintain than any of the Japanese bikes I have owned. Get a GS-911 tool and you are set. There are so many places now where you can get parts and not pay full BMW prices. I'm selling my GSA now because my long, big bike ADV rides are done due to back issues, so I'm sticking to the asphalt, and going a little smaller and newer...with a GS 1250. I'm forever hooked.

The K1600GTL Exclusive is an absolute beast with enough power and performance to out perform most large sport bikes. Comfort is un matched and is features like lean angle curb lighting, heated seats and grips, keyless everything with security and factory Garmin GPS. Cons: speakers Could be lauder but Shouldn't - IMO. No reverse or electric center stand. 2016 did not offer Dynamic cruise, just normal. Loved the bike from day one.

Very nice low end torque, perfect on a windy road, weekend ride, but not so much for daily commute, although you will turn lots of heads. It’s a beautiful bike to be sure and mechanically solid. You need to monitor the oil closely as R9Ts are notorious for burning through oil, but on and all a great bike if you prize character and reliability over sheer performance. The only drawback is the aggressive riding position, which is perfect for leisurely carving curves, but painful when you’re stuck on freeway traffic. Highly recommend it if you are looking for something fun with lots of personality.

I have owned 19 motorcycles including Yamaha, BMW, Ducati, Honda , and Harley. Only Motorcycle I didn't want to get off of. The high miles are due to 4 round trips from California to Ohio and weekend trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Gettysburg, and Florida. Stable in turns and at highway speeds (85 ). Handles 2 up as easily as single rider comfortably. I have done 1075 miles in a single day and while a little sore completed 940 miles the following day. Never an issue. If you are considering this well rounded motorcycle you cant go wrong. BMW only produced this sport tourer for 3 years and shipped only 500 to the states.

I’ve owned this K1200RS since 2004, and have ridden it all over the country. Miles and miles , one and two up. It has never been an issue riding all day for a week or more. As you riders know, this can be tiring, especially if you are not in riding shape. Wind buffering behind the stock windshield is almost non existent. Solid and confidence inspiring going along the interstate. Comfortable and planted while powering through corners of all types. Fun. This bike is solid as a “brick”. The aero dynamics are outstanding. Mechanically, I’ve never had even a small issue with this bike, ever. The BMW K12RS is an outstanding sport touring bike. Even at the age of this model, it’s still competitive with the Yamaha FJR and Kawasaki Concourse. Not as much horsepower or torque, but that is understandable considering the age of the motor and technology improvements etc. If you have an 02-04 with cruse control and heated seats you are riding an almost perfect bike, in my opinion. If I can think of anything else to add I’ll edit this as we go along.

This BMW K1600GTL is in a word awesome. Ten years and 48k miles of trouble free riding. For a touring bike this is much faster than it needs to be. Acceleration is amazing. Riding quality has three settings sport normal and comfort and they all mean what they say. The adjust on the fly windshield is worth its weight in gold. The adapting headlight means never turning i to a corner without be able to see what’s there. I’ve ridden bikes over 50 years and if there is a faster more comfortable better quality bagger Ive never seen it.
