I bought my '03 M1000DS last September and rode it home the next day, clocking 500+ miles. It's not perfect but if you make mods (bars, seats, etc.) to make it fit you, you'll love the bike. This is my fourth Ducati and I get bored with bikes pretty quickly (six bikes in the last 4 years) and I can honestly say I plan on keeping this bike for many, many years.

I have made 5000 kilometers so far, and everytime it's suprising to see how the 1000 cc engine takes up!!! really a great engine.. I used to drive the 996 and 998 and thought I would miss something, but I don't..

This is my first bike and my first Ducati. I love this bike. I have had the bike for about 2 weeks and put over 150 miles on it. Plenty of power and great handling. I ride to work, play, and want to all day. The ride position is comfortable for a semi-long ride. I suggest getting one.

Buy it .You will love it .Put pipes and ecm and air clnr,92-94hp @ ams dyno.I bought s4 and the DS will hang to 9000rpm.Turns great.I am 6"3 and 2#@ and I can ride it all day, sargent seat is better. Do yourself a favor, buy a properly sized ohlins rear 4 your weight and go terrorize your sportbike buddies,I love the motor so much I am buying a multistrada. Trading my supertrick 1800 mile s4, ouch. The things we do 4 love.

While I actually do not own this bike I have ridden my friends bike numerous times as we swap bikes often while riding. Compared to the 750 Monster my wife owned this one is more stable, the engine is smoother and still just as agile. I was pleasantly surprised. I am taking possession of the Multistrada which has the same motor so it should be one hell of a bike.
