Wow! I did not realize the HD experience could be so exciting! Having ridden metrics for the past two years, I decided to try a Harley. Probably the number one thing that stands out is this is what riding a mc is all about. The steel and chrome work well together to let the rider know this is a MOTORCYCLE. No problems, starts faithfully, great gas mileage (50 avg.), terrific sound, and no chain to mess with. Oh yes, the turn signals are self-cancelling. Take a test ride, then you will understand. This bike has some minor upgrades that make it one quick ride. You will never want to ride a metric bike ever again.

Very nimble and quick off the line. Stock seat is okay for about 10 miles at a time..after that your rear starts really hurting..but it did get the bike super low! Ride quality is quite smooth even with the 1.75" lowered suspension front and rear...very surprised..but hit a bad railroad track and you'll bottom out real quick so take it easy. The most obvious thing to change immediately is the handlebars. They are similar to buckhorns, with a swoopedback pullback and 31" width so your hands/wrists are held at an inhuman angle and fulllock turns, like backing into parkspaces or out means your elbows are stabbing your abdomen. I suggest changing the bars out to the ones that come on the XL883 Standard. I previously owned an 04XL883 for 12000 miles but sold it...regretted it bigtime but I got me another one. Nothing like a Sportster!
