I am a college student that is enrolled in a college that is centered right smack in the middle of a Major City. Parking is impossible to find, and you will most likely be towed in most places. Student parking permits are available at around $400 a semester. And for me to take the buss my estimated weekly spending would be about to $30 to $40 a week. ($2.00 per trip) I desperately needed something that could get me from My house 3 miles to campus, and very quickly. I only have about 30 min. of time to commute from work outside of the city, to home, then to class. My solution was a Honda Metropolitan II 49CC. If anyone is a student, or even looking for local errands I would highly suggest this scooter. The Max speed is about 25 miles per hour, and gas is about 100 miles per gallon. I don't have to get tags, or pay taxes on it, I am not required to insure it, and I do not have to have a motorcycle license or any license to drive it. It feels safer then riding a bike in traffic, and much quicker. However after a week of riding the scooter my confidence level has increased and I am considering getting my Motorcycle license and finding a lager scooter for 2 people and can reach highway speeds. Overall this bike is a good idea to introduce someone to riding a motorcycle in traffic, and a godsent for a student.

I received a Denim Metro for my 30th birthday last year and have to say I love it. We also bought a Solar Met since I'm not into riding alone. The bike has zipped all over Houston and continues to perform great. With the price of gas, we use the scoots for errands, trips to the store and even to go eat at a diner or shop. The trunk under the seat is a nice size and takes care of my needs. I would suggest that anyone interested in buying a scoot check out the Honda Metropolitan. 40MPH...not a problem! We normally get about 100mpg.

I bought this scooter from my co worker with 850 miles two months ago. I have since passed 2200 miles in the last month. I live in southern Utah, on the edge of the Mojave Desert. We see 105 deg. plus in the summer, 95% of the time. Even though I am driving in such extreme heat, I love to ride. I am a little bigger than the average scooter rider, at 230 lbs. but I still get going at 35-40 mph. Just enough not to get pulled over.
