Nice style. Smooth and very strong engine for 500cc. Handles very well. Brakes are fair to poor compared to today's brakes. Nice stock pegs. Pretty fast for a 500cc. Biggest drawback for me is the size of the bike...great to learn on but too cramped for me now. I'm 6'1". Also the pegs are in a more standard position making it more cramped. Probably an awesome bike for a smaller or shorter rider. Was good for me as a starter bike because of the lightweight and smaller size...made handling much easier. But selling now and will get a standard or sport tour style for more comfort and sportier bike. Read web pages around the net re: early VFR engines and trouble spots before buying one of these bikes with the early VFR engine...don't know if it affects this size engine or not...but best to get one with low mileage and take good care of it.

I bought this bike used in 1987, first bike. Top end speed and power unmatched by any other 500. Rode this bike for 5 years with no problems, minimal maintainence, stored it from 1992 to 2000, had it tuned, cleaned and reassembled, have ridden it since then with still no problems except minimal adjustments. This little hummer can peel the paint off of sports cars in a head to head drag race. For those 2 pilots at Langely Air Force Base, this bike was the nightmare for their brand new red Miata. Remember me? Capable to cruise through S.Carolina at 120 mph. no sweat. Sorry officer.

I've spent the last two months on a used V30 Magna that has just 7,000 miles on it. This bike is very quick! It has the V4 Interceptor motor and puts out 64 horses. that's a lot of power for a bike that weighs 439 lbs. I'm very happy with it. It handles and brakes well and the power means that riding two up on this mid-size is not a problem. I highly recommend this bike if you are under 5'10" and want something easy to handle. The fact that it can blow the fairings off of many larger displacement cruisers is an added bonus!

The V30 was my first new bike and at the time it was unstoppable. In 85 a V30 could run with all the big dogs. The only thing was its chain drive. If it had a shaft it would still be made. I got in a race with a 600 Ninja one day and he had to work real hard to beat me. I would love to have another one today. The best 500 ever and that's the bottom line!
