I actually own the 96 model. This bike is a real performer. Lean angle, power, ergos, etc. It is happy where you are happy. It will cruise the boulevard or highway. The only reason I would move to a different ride is if I became unhappy with 5-6000 rpm highway travel. Other than that, I Love This Bike. I am no skinny fish at 5'11" and about 250 pounds. No problems running with even the liter bikes. Seat is in need of upgrade and accessories are not as plentiful as most, but overall a great investment and ride. Wife is now wanting to ride her own so I think the 500 Vulcan may be in our future.

Very reliable, with lots of nice features- center stand, tach, shaft drive. It was my first bike. Since then I've had sport bikes, muscle bikes etc... The VN750 continues to please with acceleration able to keep up (or pull away) with all but the fastest cruisers. Magazine editors say its ugly....don't believe it, why is it still a strong seller after 16 YEARS !!!

As a returning rider, I wanted a bike that was easy to handle and maintain. With shaft drive and hydraulic lifters, there is virtually no maintenance to this bike. Good handling and its forgiving nature make it an excellent entry level bike.... read more
