Just purchased a clean unmolested '96 Trident with my son. Only 13,800 miles on the clock. Together with him this is our 4th Hinckley Triumph. So we are not objective. We love them. This is one comfortable, strong running bike. I love the T300 series motors. Very strong, reliable, overbuilt. Yes, a little top heavy and the front fork springs can/should be upgraded. But they handle very well and you can ride all day with the Trident's ergo's. 40 mpg is typical. Only downside is the lack of aftermarket goods for this big brit naked triple. In summary, a modern brit roadster and a real sleeper at bargain prices. If you find a decent example buy it, you won't regret it. Ride Safe!

Top heavy and weighty by late 90's specs but perfectly normal for T3 Triumphs. Reliable, nice, powerful engine with plenty of power (98hp stock) on tap. Front springs are too soft but otherwise fine in braking and handling. If you want modern British, it can't be beat. I use it as both a commuter and to... read more

I bought my 1996 TRIDENT April, 1996. 37,000 miles. NO problems and this baby will still do over 130mph with two up. I change oil at 3500 mile intervals (syn. Mobil) never had the cases opened for valve adjust. Sounds fine, looks good, AND just keeps on ticking. She will do 120 through my marked out qua... read more

Mobil) never had the cases opened for valve adjust. Sounds fine, looks good, AND just keeps on ticking. She will do 120 through my marked out quarter mile spot,140 on any day. I twist the wris and with a 20-35mph tailwind ,she"ll do 150.These numbers are what the speedo reads, and I weigh 150 pounds. I would of had over 53000mls.on her except I put 5000 on my 1998 THUNDERBIRD SPORT, and 11000 mils on my 1997 BLACKBIRD. The 300 series TRIUMPHS WILL RUN FOREVER.
