We had bought a Chinese bike many years ago and learned it is much better to buy a used "Big 5" bike over a Chinese version. We bought this bike at six years old and it is a delight! If I had to do it again, I'd stick with the TTR50 over CRF50 because of the electric start (we also own a CRF250X and CRF250R so I'm not biased). It may not seem like much of a difference but it is...this is my third youth rider in the family.

MY SON GOT THIS BIKE FOR HIS 4TH BIRTHDAY. HAS BEEN A GREAT LITTLE BIKE. IT HAS MUCH MORE POWER THAN THE PW50. ELECTRIC START IS NICE. I PUT TRAINING WHEELS ON WITH NO PROBLEMS. BIKE HAS NO TROUBLE PULLING ME AROUND (6FT, 185LBS). SPEED LIMIT SCREW NICE FOR LITTLE GUYS. ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THE BIKE IS PRETTY H... read more

ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THE BIKE IS PRETTY HEAVY FOR SMALLER RIDERS. don't WASTE TIME WITH THE PW, KIDS WILL SOON OUT GROW AND YOU WILL BE GETTING A TTR LATER.

I bought a TTR 50 the first month they came out and this is what I think. I have only had a few problems with the bike. I bought a TTR 50 the first month they came out and this is what I think. I have only had a few problems with the bike. During a pit bike race, I have all together broke my front fender, crushed my rear rim, broke side panels off, and burned the tire off the rim( from doing burn outs). This 50 hauled my 110 pound butt up a 95 foot hill with no tread on the back tire. Even though I am too big for this bike, it still will pull wheelies, do stopies and do dounuts on concrete. So all in all, this 50 hauls.

I got this bike and loved it ever since, I am almost 16 and I can't get enough of this 50! It is fast and handles like a dream, my buddy got one the same time as me and it has kept us out of trouble, it's fun and keeps us busy. This is an all time pit bike, or learning bike there is, and it a YAMAHA, yes!... read more

This bike is awesome! I bought it for pit bike racing recently, and I love it. It has taken all the abuse I've dished out without a hiccup. I've had no problems at all and it's noticeably faster than the CRF. I couldn't be happier.... read more
