014 Indian Chieftain Rider Review: Love at First Ride From the moment you see the 2014 Indian Chieftain in Indian Motorcycle Red, you know you're looking at something special. This bike doesn’t just sit in your garage—it commands attention, whether parked on Main Street or rolling down a winding country road. The styling is pure heritage. Those flowing valanced fenders, the massive front fairing, and the beautiful badging all pay homage to Indian’s legendary history. But this isn’t a museum piece—it’s a modern, powerful touring machine. Let’s talk about that engine. The Thunder Stroke 111 is the star of the show. 1811cc of classic V-twin grunt delivers 119 ft-lbs of torque you can feel in your soul. It doesn’t just accelerate—it pulses. The ride is all about that satisfying rumble, which turns downright intoxicating with the Rinehart Racing slip-ons. Every twist of the throttle rewards you with that signature deep bark—smooth, throaty, and unmistakably American. Add the Stage 1 Air Intake, and the response is even sharper. On the road, it’s made to go. The power windshield is such a smart touch—it drops for the breeze in town and rises to block wind on the highway. Cruise control is seamless, making long stretches effortless. And the remote-locking hard bags? They’re big enough for real touring and secure enough to leave your gear behind without worry. The upgraded LED headlight and fog lights are a practical blessing. Not only do they modernize the look, but they light up dark roads with crisp, clear brilliance. It's one of those upgrades that instantly makes you wonder how you ever rode without it. Comfort? Absolutely. The 26-inch seat height gives you confidence at stops. The saddle itself is wide, plush, and supportive for hours of riding without fatigue. Indian nailed the ergonomics—bars, pegs, controls all feel natural. Tech-wise, it has everything you need. The Bluetooth-connected audio system lets you cruise with your favorite soundtrack. Keyless ignition is a premium touch, and the classic analog gauges keep the vibe old-school without sacrificing information. But beyond the specs and features, what makes the Chieftain truly special is the emotional connection. It’s not just a motorcycle—it’s an experience. You feel the history in every detail, but you get modern dependability. It’s equally at home doing 400-mile days or short weekend coffee runs, turning heads and drawing compliments everywhere you stop. If you want a bike that makes every ride feel like an event, that sounds as good as it looks, and that offers the best of classic American touring style with modern comforts, the 2014 Indian Chieftain is it. I’ve loved every mile. It’s a bike that makes you look back every time you park it. And the best part? It makes you want to ride more.

I’ve owned and ridden big Jap cruisers, HD Road king and this Indian Roadmaster was by far the most comfortable. I road it from the East coast out to Sturgis in 2015 picked up a nail in the rear tire and the TPMS kept me clued in so I knew the tire pressure was going down before i could feel it or have a miss hap on the road. For a bike that weighs jus under a thousand pounds with me and gear on it, it handles like a dream. I’v’e put over 25000 miles on it these past 2 years and it hasn’t failed to keep a smile on my face yet. It runs very well with its 111Cubic Inh power plant and it looks as sweet as anything out there on the road. I love it, its been my best ride to date.
