I bought my VRSCSE2 two weeks ago and I'm a committed fan already. Dealer told me rear wheel horse power was 160. Not sure, but doesn't matter. This bike is so powerful and nimble I had to re-think my riding ability. You can feel the throaty engine between your knees instead of the pipes of my Superglide. The bike is very sleek, attracts a ton of attention, is a dream to ride short or long haul and very comfortable.

I have been living in Tokyo Japan for a little more than a year. Two weeks ago early June, I bought new 2006 Hi Gloss VRSCD Night Rod from the local dealer in Shibuya. It took sometime for both of us to understand each other, the sales man and me. Luckily my wife was there, she speaks the local language much better than the I. Once they realized I was a serious buyer, we began ordering accessories, shirts, Jackets and other items... Whoo Hoo! A week later, I showed up with a hand full of cash and we had a motorcycle. My previous Harley was a 1993 FLSTC Heritage softail. There are noticable differences in these motorcycles... I am very impressed with the power and handling of this Motorcycle. It calls you to ride... AWESOME MACHINE!!!

Good power, good comfort, handling much better than my other HD, gets hot in summer but I don't ride when it gets too hot out anyhow, transmission is not as clunky as my Fat Boy that I had before, they fixed a small oil leak from the rocker cover then I had a recall and they put a new engine in, my original motor was mechanically quieter, the brakes chatter some but it stops well, it's a good cruiser and less glitches than the other HDs I've had, a little costly but I used to spend a lot more.

I have owned many bikes in the past with 25 years of dirt bike experience and 14 years on the road. This bike will certainly get the looks, but thats the main reason you either bought one or are looking at it now. Start looking early because they are a little hard to find. Deffinately go Stage 1 and pipes, and stage 2 if you can swing it. I have over 9000 miles on this in less than a year and have loved every mile. Having ridden "dead head" from Phoenix to Salt Lake (700mi) and the longest ride to date, Salt Lake to Spokane in one day (832mi) I feel iI know this bike well. First, after 300mi your butt will go numb so you might want to upgrade the seat or get a gelpad. Overall it's a great bike though. Deffinately a true cruiser.

My seventh bike and it's great. If I could have sent a wish list to Harley it would've been a V-rod. A powerful cruiser that loves to to perform. A little buffeting around trucks, but hey it keeps you awake. Harley has entered a new era in style and performance. The V-rod is probably not a good choice for a first time rider. Maybe it is I don't really know, I'm just saying that because I think I would have had trouble but I was a TERRIBLE first time rider.

Clearly the V-rod is a nice bike, and if this is the nice you want to be in, you couldn't have selected a better cruiser. The ride is comfortable, with strong performance, no, make that outstanding performance, and reliability to boot. I've changed my exhaust to the SuperTrapp system with a Harley Davidson Race Tuner Kit which took a great performer to the next level. My only complaint would be that the ground clearance and front rake of the bike limit your ability to work the corners and twisties. But then again, this is a cruiser is it not??
