I loved my beautiful black 2002 Shadow 750 Ace. I rode it for 5 years. It was my first bike at the age of 65 and I loved accessorizing. Most of my riding was for local commute. I loved my beautiful black 2002 Shadow 750 Ace. I rode it for 5 years. It was my first bike at the age of 65 and I loved accessorizing. Most of my riding was for local commute. The bike was easy to handle and fuel efficient and never needed repair of any kind. When I moved to another town and had to take a longer distance commute, I realized the need for a more powerful and more stable ride for the freeway. Last year I considered other bikes but settled on the VTX after one sit at the dealer. It fit me perfectly. Then I searched around and found a used, very low mileage silver 2005 VTX 1300R in perfect condition and nicely accessorized. It's been a love fest ever since. The bike is everything all the other rave reviews claim. I still ride my 750 for local errands. At age 70 now I will keep riding both until strength and coordination give out.

After riding a Harley for six years I wanted a new bike. I was considering a Road King but didn't want to spend the money. A friend recommended going metric. I never thought I would but after buying my VTX 1300S I fell in love. The bike handles great, the power is there when you need it and the...

After riding a Harley for six years I wanted a new bike. I was considering a Road King but didn't want to spend the money. A friend recommended going metric. I never thought I would but after buying my VTX 1300S I fell in love. The bike handles great, the power is there when you need it and the bike is all around fun to ride. Best of all, the price was great and I still have everything the Road King would have had. I would recommend this bike to anybody.

2004 Honda VTX 1300 (VTX1300C)

I've had my 1300C since May of 2006. I bought it new, even though it was the 2004 model. It is my first motorcycle, fresh out of the MSC. It seemed too large and powerful at first, but I have since learned to control it, love it, and push it to its limits. At my height and inseam, an 1800 might...

I've had my 1300C since May of 2006. I bought it new, even though it was the 2004 model. It is my first motorcycle, fresh out of the MSC. It seemed too large and powerful at first, but I have since learned to control it, love it, and push it to its limits. At my height and inseam, an 1800 might have been a better choice, but I adapted my 1300 for comfort and style instead.
Overall, the 1300 can't be beat. Solid performance and great looks - just a great package. I have updated many parts to improve the ride quality and comfort, but even stock, the bike is great. I've done many short and long trips, two-up, with lots of luggage, and the VTX has always performed like a champ. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone looking for a metric cruiser.

2006 Honda VTX1300S

I purchased the bike in August 2007; it was brand new, unsold dealer inventory. I had begun riding again early in '07, at 50 years old, after a thirty year break. When I bought the VTX 1300S, I was moving up from a 2003 Shadow Spirit 750, which I bought in April '07. I have thoroughly enjoyed the...

I have thoroughly enjoyed the 1300S. It is surprisingly nimble for a large bike, and is well-built for highway and bi-way running. It handles well in all situations. The K&N air filter, and idea I received from another rider's review, truly adds to its throttle response and gas mileage. The bike's engineering is solid, and maintenance requirements are very reasonable. My only criticism is that the rear passenger gets a bit of wind buffeting over 50 mph, even with the 21 inch tall windshield; yet that's probably unavoidable on any cruiser. I highly recommend this motorcycle to anyone. It is an absolute joy to ride!

It is not a sport bike but has plenty of power. Lots of aftermarket goodies are available - what more could you ask for? Honda quality and a good price. I am a little unhappy with the chrome being plastic but like I said there are lots of aftermarket goodies. A true cruiser! Sure glad I didn't buy the Road King.

This 1300R is everything I expected from Honda: reliable, easy ride and a nice aspect for us 6 feet & over folks. The tall windshield is a necessity for us on the highway. The worst possible thing I can say about it is the seat won't be very comfy on a longer haul for anyone larger than me.

Only minor complaint is a slight hesitation occasionally upon acceleration. I also had the dealer install Memp. Shades windshield, backrest, rear rack, crash bars & highway pegs. My wife and I can't ride often enough, it's such a pleasure to ride!

My VTX came with V&H long shots, Power Commander & Hyper Charger, and on top of all this it was dyno tuned to maximize this rocket of a motorcycle. It also came with a Corbin seat and Honda Line windshield. After my first year on the road with this bike, I have backed off a bit on the thottle and am now averaging about 35 mpg. I love the power & speed to pass anything in my way and look forward to the next ride everyday of the week.

I purchased a new 2006 VTX1300S about a month ago and have about 1100 miles on it. This is my first time riding a street bike. I took the MSF new riders course before the purchase. I have been on city streets and country roads and the bike performs and handles very well. don't let the weight scare you. It has a very low center of gravity and the extra weight helps on the highway. It turns very easily and goes faster than I need it to. Not a lot of vibration that I have noticed at 75 to 80 mph. All in all it is a great first motorcycle and you won't be wanting to upgrade anytime soon.
