After giving much thought to my new bike (I have an 03 VFR 800), I settled on the 1300C. My choices were the 1800F or C, the 1300C or the 919. Given the difficulty in finding a 919, that was ruled out fairly quickly. Then came the hard part: given my size, I immediately thought the bigger bike was for me. After having ridden both of these bikes, I chose right: the 1300. It handles better, has plenty of power and has the same look as the 1800. To top it all off, I paid less and get better gas mileage (42 mpg rating)! This bike is worth every penny! Unless you absolutely HAVE to have the biggest & the best, go with the 1300.

Has never not started, stalled, made any unusual noises except for the 1st to 2nd gear clunk and back. Common to these bikes but eventually goes away according to the manufacturer. I love the bike and would never trade it except maybe for a newer one.

My friend has a 2004 Harley road king and I took that for a ride, what a disappointment. That made me feel even better about the VTX. This is truly a great bike with plenty of power on tap when you need it.

Just bought my '05 VTX1300R in March & can't stay off of it. I have been riding for more than 30 years and have owned dozens of motorcycles, but none has been as pleasurable to own as this one. I commute to work on it as often as possible. I take day trips on weekends. I even take short rides in the evenings (after commuting 40 miles from work!). This bike has the feel, the power, the comfort, and the looks, that make for an exceptional riding/ownership experience.
