I have the 2001 klr250. Love it !!! I bought it to ride with my 13yr old twin boys. They ride TTR125's. The klr250 is light, quiet, and has plenty of power. I have the 2001 klr250. Love it !!! I bought it to ride with my 13yr old twin boys. They ride TTR125's. The klr250 is light, quiet, and has plenty of power. I do a lot of riding on the city street as well as trail riding. It is great for riding in the city traffic. Liquid cooled is great for traffic. I do ride on the hwy for short distances. I can cruise at about 60 mph with no problems. I do wish they made more acc. for the bike. The klr650 has everything you could ask for in acc. but very little for the 250. I modified some ATV tank bags to fit the bike and added a fender pack for tools. Right after I bought the bike I saw the rear rack on the Kawasaki web site. But since then I have been unable to re-locate the rear rack. I would really like to purchase the rack. If anyone can help point me in the right direction, I would be very thankful. Thanks and be safe...Great Riding !!

It's around 80 lbs. lighter than the KLR650! With optional rear storage rack, you can attach add-on packs, and you can get aftermarket pipes, shocks, and tires. All around great bike for exploring mountain trails and local streets.
