This is a great bike for anyone who feels the need for speed or just to know you got speed when you want it, in cruiser style. This is my 2nd bike (first bike was a 250), 2nd year driver and this bike rides like a charm and it is comfortable for me and the speed changes are very smooth. I recommend...

I love mine. It's been very dependable. Gas mileage is great. If I really, really get on it the MPG is 45. When I decide to drive it sensibly I have gotten just over 60 MPG. I'm looking at getting a 900 classic only because I'm starting to take longer trips with passengers. I've taken the 500 on...

I'm looking at getting a 900 classic only because I'm starting to take longer trips with passengers. I've taken the 500 on overnight trips by myself over 4 hours away and was very comfortable on it. Perfect bike for a high school kid.

This bike seemed small for my frame but I've found it very comfortable and exceptionally easy to ride. It's a bit cumbersome in slow parking lot but has a nice balance while using the friction zone in very low speed. On the highway this can kick ass at 75 and can move me on and up to speed of traffic in no time. It also seems like the 6 speed really makes a difference on the freeway. I'm averaging over 50 MPG but even though this is a 4 gallon tank it seems to conk out until I switch the fuel valve to the reserve setting at about 115 to 135 miles. Then I basically end up adding about 2 gallons of gas. Two gallons in reserve just seems a bit excessive for me. If you want a bike that makes a lot of noise this is not the bike for you. It has a quiet almost stealth like rumble. I love it. All in all a good starter bike with the power and HP to get you going.

I bought this last Monday. If you want a bike that can handle highway speeds without working the engine too hard and be comfortable at the same time, this bike will meet your needs. It has a solid feel and is easy to handle in slower traffic. You can run all day at 75 if you so desire. I'm not one...

My gas mileage for highway is right at 57 MPG. If the two lane highway and city crusing is what you want in a motorcycle, this will fill the bill.

I've had my '04 Vulcan 500 for approx. 2 years now. I bought it used from the original owner who had put 14,000 miles on it. It's been a wonderfully reliable, beautiful bike. I took a 2500 mile tour last summer and I concluded that it is not the most comfortable ride (probably because of it's small size and not so cushiony stock seat). Nevertheless, I have been overall extremely satisfied with this bike.

I bought my bike in July of 2008 and love it. My last bike I owned was a 1982 Yamaha Exciter 250 back in the early 80s. This bike run great and I do plan on buying a bigger bike in the near future and a sport bike (all Kawasaki's)and planning to get a tourer bike (Kawasaki also--YES KAWASAKI YOU...

This bike run great and I do plan on buying a bigger bike in the near future and a sport bike (all Kawasaki's)and planning to get a tourer bike (Kawasaki also--YES KAWASAKI YOU SOLD ME TO YOUR COMPANY...LOL). I would recommend this bike for beginners and advanced bikers. It holds it own with bigger bikes twice it's size. One ride I took last month, I kept up with sport bikes that were in 1000cc range and smaller, it surprised me with its power to keep up with them.

As a new rider fresh out of the MSF course, I couldn't have chosen a better first bike. Erring on the side of caution, I almost got a 250cc cruiser (like the one I trained on in the MSF), but thankfully I decided to go with a 500cc and couldn't be happier that I did. Erring on the side of caution, I almost got a 250cc cruiser (like the one I trained on in the MSF), but thankfully I decided to go with a 500cc and couldn't be happier that I did. In my humble opinion it's the best first cruiser that you can buy as a new rider. Now that I've ridden if for 1 1/2 seasons I've kind of outgrown it and am in the market for a new Vulcan 900 Classic LT. Unlike many new riders, I'm careful to not get in over my head on a bike. I bought my first sport bike in April and it's a 650, and I can tell you that I'm not going to outgrow that bike for a while. I've put tons of miles on the Vulcan 500 with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I highly recommend it to the new rider!

Having never ridden before, I bought a new 2008 500 LTD not knowing whether or not I was even going to like riding. I love this bike. The price was right and it has more than enough power for me. I am not even close to being a small person, but this bike has plenty of power to spare. I have ridden solo, have gone on large group rides, and have taken a two hundred mile trip. I have no problem at all keeping up with the big bikes. It will do more, but 70 MPH has been about my limit so far. It doesn't even feel stressed at that speed. I can't speak to it having enough power when riding double, but I don't think it can be beat for the price.
The only problem I have found is not being easily able to find many aftermarket accessories for it. They are out there though if you look hard enough.
