I traded an s-40 suzuki in june for my 900 classic and was amazed at how much of a difference there was in the ride and handling. Also was impressed on how easy it was to go from an s-40 suzuki to a 900 classic. didn't even hardly need to get out of the parking lot on my road test and it already started to feel like I had been riding this bike for a long time. The balance and handling is perfect. The bike also has plenty of power and torque to take you anywhere you want to ride even with a passenger on the rear which is the main reason I traded my s-40 in because after I purchased my s-40. My wife decided she would like to start going along on rides and there just wasn't enough room or comfort on the smaller s-40. But we have no problem with either on the 900 classic. We can both ride all day long and be comfortable. I would recommend anyone to buy this bike if they are looking for a new bike that will handle two up riding and will still have power and comfort to spare.

I got my Vulcan coming back to riding after a 20+ year absence. (Got rid of the old bikes, to help raise the kids.) First got a Ninja 500, but it got old after 6 months, with the sportbike riding position, and super light weight. Wanted something that felt more stable on the road and had more upright seating, to suit my finely aged body type. The Vulcan 900 fits the bill to a T. I have put 500 miles on it in less than a month and look forward to each ride, no matter how long or short it is. There are a lot of reviews saying how uncomfortable the original seat is, and it ain't so bad compared to the seat on the Ninja 500. You can wait for a while to get a better seat if you have to. It has plenty enough power to ride at highway speeds, but is still tame enough you don't have to worry about it getting away from you unexpectedly. It runs so smooth at low RPM's it is a pleasure to ride on city streets. It's light enough that it handles quickly (for a cruiser) but heavy enough to feel stable at highway speeds with a crosswind. Still gets an average of 50 MPG, with reg. unleaded too. Overall a great general purpose bike, for just about anyone who just wants to enjoy riding, and could care less if they ever win a race, or can go 100 MPH in first gear.

It also handles the twisties of the tail of the dragon and any other road You want to travel. We averaged 42 MPG with riders and a full load of gear including a T-bag on top of the trunk. The 2400 mile ride was much easier on this bike. The comfort for My Wife was well above the Nomad. Cruise control is a blessing when it can be used on the straight roads. Overall Kawasaki has come up with another winner. Love every minute of our time on this one.

The fog light switch could be better placed and lighted so you know when it is on. I am not crazy about the multi switch to reset the trip meter. Could be more user friendly. (ie PHD press here dummy) I am used to a sport tourer, so I am finding the lean angle a little shy. It is just a matter of adjusting my riding style. Very comfortable bike. Once you're moving you forget about the weight. The paint finish is excellent. Mirrors stay clear. This bike can haul Azz. Single or two up it handles great. Looking forward to a long relationship.

In October of '07 we test rode a Nomad, after that it was a matter of time.... In Oct'08 I took my C-50 in for scheduled maintenance and left with an '06 Green/Silver Nomad. This bike is great! Smooth as silk at all speeds, the extra weight smooths out the ride and resists the push from wind gusts. There is ample room for both rider and passenger and the saddlebags have plenty of room for a weekend away.
