The bike has never as much as hick-upped. I do a tune up at my independent bike shop every 15 K mi. I recommend to every experienced rider!

I got my Busa only two days ago and haven't been able to get off of it. Even at a brisk 40 degrees (that's cold in California) it's pure enjoyment. I traded my 2003 Suzuki Intruder 1500 for this Hayabusa. It's a tremendous change in style, but worth it. Even the die-hard cruisers can respect this bike. Incredibly comfortable and outstandingly responsive. I have roughly 16 years experience and this is my fourth bike. Many have said this is not for beginners. I will say that the Hayabusa is not for the IMMATURE. If you want this bike simply because it will do 180 mph without a whimper, then look at something else. Throttle control is very important. She's rock steady at 20 mph and 120 mph. If you are inexperienced, immature, and like to show off...you will get hurt on this bike. The most important bit of advice I can offer to anyone contemplating a Hayabusa is respect it. Not only for the name and reputation, but the reputation of all the other Busa riders out there.

I've had my 'Busa for 2 years now and it still absolutely blows me away everytime I ride it. There is seemingly limitless power. One of the first mods I made was installing a shift-light. Had to have one because the tach screams toward redline so quickly, it's difficult to watch it and the road at the same time. I've taken the bike to road course track-day and had an unbelieveably good time. It's sort of long and heavy for high speed cornering and the other smaller bikes would pass me on the corners, but once I hit the straights, I would pass all the bikes right back again. Very reliable, have only had to renew the battery. Rider comfort was increased substantially by intalling a Gen-Mar handlebar riser (1.25in). Most importantly, it's quickness and acceleration is difficult to put into words.

I've put 30,000 miles on my 2004 model. I commute every day and do the twisties whenever I can. I've done a fair bit of touring, too. Quite a bit of my riding has been two-up; the other half loves getting on the back. It'll go like a cut cat if you want. Or it'll meander lazily around town all day. Power delivery is linear, and it makes a fantastic amount of torque through the rev range. It'll pull cleanly from as low as 1,500 revs. The suspension is fully adjustable, and the chassis is nice and taught, which all make for a great, confidence-inspiring ride. It's a pussycat under 5,000 revs; get over that with a crisp twist of the wrist, and it's 'Jekyll and Hyde' personality reveals itself in an eye-ball flattening way. Rider comfort levels are good, and pillions are well catered for. Reliability? Absolutely no problems. The Busa is a bit like a Swiss Army knife on steroids: it does everything, and does lots incredibly well. I never get tired of riding the thing ... boredom doesn't fit into the equation. The perfect bike? Arguably, there's no such thing. There's always something to gripe about, regardless of how trivial. First up, the brakes aren't great. Upgrades needed here. On the standard set-up, you could be forgiven for thinking that your pads are knackered or your discs are glazed. Given the Busa's horsepower, torque and mass, the brake issue is a bit hard to excuse. Fit and finish are good, but they're not up to the standard of the likes of Honda. The Busa doesn't like really tight, twisty roads ... horses for courses, I guess. And it's probably not the greatest track-day weapon. But if you're a serious track-day type, you'd probably buy one of the Gixxers. Oh yeah, and then there's the screen: it hides the top of the instrument panel. Double bubble fixes that one. All in all, I wouldn't part with my near perfect Busa. Best bike I've ridden. My next bike? A new Busa, of course. Try one - you'll never become bored.

It just doesn't care. Careful with its ultra stable chassis, you be seeing triple digits on the speedo with no sense of any wrong doing. It's just amazing that you can own one of the most advanced, aerodynamic machines with a cult like following, and rock solid reliability record. Not to mention it's in the Guiness Book of world records. Yes, the new ZX-14 is a viable option. Just doesn't have the track record or support. Not to mention it was only a tenth faster than the 9yr old Busa in the quarter mile, as seen on Discovery channel, both piloted by pro riders.

It's ready to deliver the power I need in almost any situation - I was able to pull it up to 90mph in 1st gear and also was able to be in the 6th gear at 35mph. Needless to say, it leaves others far behind on wide open roads, but it is very well behaved in city traffic as well. I was able to get 30-50 mpg depending on the driving style.

Totally awesome motorcycle. I had reservations about the Hayabusa thinking it may be uncomfortable as I have been riding a Honda ST1300 for the last two years. However, I fell in love with the pearl white color and took the plunge. I've owned 7 motorcycles over the last 5 years, everything from cruisers, sport, and sport touring and by far, the Hayabusa is perfect for me. I wish I would have bought one of these five years ago. It's extremely comfortable, the power is incredible, and it's silky smooth. It glides through the air effortlessly, and is the most aerodynamic motorcycle on the market to date for the last 9 years, hence the science channel's designation as a modern wonder of the world. Nothing compares to this bike, it's just fun to ride and although powerful, very controllable.

Well, first of all, I have to say this is it. You gotta love it! This bike will be around for years to come. It demands a great deal of respect but also gives back tenfold. The first trial began with an unexpected response of horsey-power that I haven't seen delivered on anything stock. If I had to sum it up, the "Busa" will go "Nuts" in a second with a slight twist of the wrist. Although powerful, she can be tamed and ridden like anything else. Just be patient and take the time to develop a relationship with her. It will come. This is one of those situations where you develop a feeling for this bike. After you do that, you'll become one with this bike and "everything else" becomes foreign. ------Enter the "BUSA"------

Lots of open road riding, and with soft bags, a great sport tourer. Fits my LOOONG body well. The thing I hate most is always being asked "How fast have you had it?" Oh well, sometimes you just must be patient. 'Busa is rock solid, no problems, just wish I could get more mileage out of the tires. If you want to join an exclusive club--get the 'busa. Nothing on the road like it!!

I have my boys to thank for having this bike. They both have GSXR's, and while the riding position is a bit uncomfortable for this 52 year old, they are blast to ride and represent a lot of thought and engineering. After deciding to get a bike for myself, I leaned toward more of a naked sport bike with traditional handlebars. After taking a test ride on the Triumph Speed Triple on a blustery Kansas day, I realized what a difference these fairings make! I was getting blown all over the place (or so it felt). So with a fairing on the must-have list, I looked at everything I could. One day while at the local Suzuki dealer, I sat on the Busa and was very surprised at the relaxed rider position. After confirming their cult-like following with serious touring folks and reading a zillion reviews I bought one. The Busa is a quality, precision machine. Unlike the smaller GSXers, the power band is much flatter. It pulls with authority from idle on up. It is an easy bike to ride. I put my 100lb daughter-in-law on it and jumped on a GSXR 750 to follow along. I felt like a chase plane following the space shuttle. My beefs are 2. The seat is fine for 150 miles or so, but after that it can get uncomfortable. I'm getting a Corbin to fix that. Secondly, it can get hot on summer days setting at a stop light (the rider not the bike). The fairing lets a bit more hot air escape from the left side than the right. But in the scheme of things those squawks are insignificant. The Busa is a classy bike, it does everything effortlessly. Now back away from the computer and go out and buy one. Life is short.
