Triumph Bonneville SE - Intense Orange reviews

I replaced a 2013 H-D Sportster with this 2014 Bonneville - no comparison. The T100 is way smoother, handles better, cruises along as low as 35 mph. in 5th gear, and accelerates right on up to 70 easily. I didn't take it any faster as it's only got 100 miles so far. It has a great paint job and I love the polished side covers and cam cover. I love it so far. Show less

I will be riding this bike a lot into my retirement years. I can't get enough, averaging 100 miles a day the first week. I have owned three 650 twins, albeit 35 years ago; this 865 cc is what we all wanted back then. It's powerful, smooth, quieter than the old bikes; coupled with today's tires, fuel injection and better electrics. I'm very satisfied with this bike and with the seller: staff at the shop was very easy to deal with. They phoned me with a price that I didn't refuse. I find this bike to be smooth, comfortable, responsive, fast and economical. It handles 2 up very nicely and it surely turns heads. I also like the fact that being an ex-Harley guy, I'm still accepted in the crowd. I can even ride with the sport bikes. I was looking to get a Euro bike to compliment my Harley Switchback. I tried the Beemers (too ugly and too expensive), then test rode the Moto Guzzi V-7 Stone (getting warm), but didn't like the riding position (legs felt slightly cramped). Then viola!!! There sat a 2013 orange and black Bonnie and it was love at first sight! I took it for a ride and was instantly impressed with the sound of the motor and the brakes and seating position. The poor Guzzi just didn't stack up and was a grand more expensive. I have 700 fun-filled miles on the Bonnie now and when the winter gets out of here in Colorado, I am looking forward to many more. This is a bike that I think can probably do it all (except off road). At times (especially in our beautiful mountains), I seem to be grinning more on the Bonnie than on my Harley!!! Show less

This is the third Triumph I have owned and is the best, by far. It has great acceleration and highway manners. The SE comes with hard bags, center stand and gel seat, so the items I would have added were already there. I'm sure the ABS brake system works, I just haven't noticed it in action. I guess that is a good thing. The only concern I had was the poor wind screen. I installed a MadStad Robo screen system, and all wind problems have disappeared. If you want a long haul, upright seating, powerful motorcycle, the Tiger 1050 can't be beat. Show less

This is my second Triumph and I had a 2005 Speedmaster". I went to the local Triumph dealer open house and rode the Thunderbird and a basic Bonneville (white) which had been ordered with tachometer. I was going to change the handlebars on my Speedmaster but after riding the Bonny, I decided after six years it was time for a different riding position and a new ride. I really loved the Speedmaster (35K including several long trips) and had a trip planned up Northeast. I took the Bonny and did 2,000 miles in a week with one 600+mile day. It's the first bike I've owned including the Speedmaster with no "excepts" as in "I like everything about this bike 'except'". I've been riding 40+years on a variety of bikes and this is the best yet. I've had no problem at 75 all day and I really look forward to riding everyday. I have also test ridden many new bikes the last two yrs, and in my humble opinion, Triumph is the best by far. Two bikes and no breakdowns, etc., just gas, oil and tires for six years. Chain maintenance is easy and the best quality for the price anywhere. This is the best bike I've owned in 40 years of riding. It has great gearing, plenty of power for its weight and it's so easy handling and fun to ride. I am now over heavyweight cruisers. I am Triumph loyal: great bikes and very dependable and I have a great local dealer. I also recently rode the Storm. My initial impression is it's the best cruiser I've ever ridden. This is my first bike after not riding for 30 years. I'm impressed with the finish, sound, reliability, power, comfort and the dealer support to say the least: they got me the one I wanted in the color scheme I had to have. One funny note: I get a lot of "Dude, great restoration!" comments, and have to explain that it's really a 2011 Bonney; to more than a few skeptical looks. My rides are getting longer, too; I have nothing but confidence in the motorcycle. Show less

I'm relatively new to riding. I love my Bonneville, it is perfect for me. This is my third bike. My previous bikes were V Star's, which are nice bikes, but I never felt totally comfortable on them. I heard the seat height was lowered on the Bonneville, so I tried a test ride, and realized immediately I didn't want my current bike anymore, I wanted a Bonneville. The Bonneville fits me so much better than the big cruisers did, and is sooooo easy to handle. It's much more nimble and shifts beautifully. I would recommend it for a beginner or a smaller rider... anyone who wants a bike that is easy to handle and fun to ride. Show less
