In the Motorcycle Safety Training class, the instructors tell you that riding a motorcycle is inherently fun. So therefore there is no reason to go crazy on the road or make your bike anything more than it already is, because you are already having fun. You do, however, want your bike to do what you want it to do. that's what the Roadliner S gets accomplished. You want power, it's there. You want good ergos, it's there. You want a stiff frame that doesn't do anything it isn't supposed to, you got it. With so many choices out there, I am sure there are other bikes that do something or the other better than the Roadliner S, but if you appreciate the complete package of feel it in your seat acceleration, a superb chasis, unique and beautiful styling and unsurpassed reliability, this has to be, without a doubt, the bike for you. It is for me.

2009 Yamaha Stratoliner S

It's more power than I ever expected from a bike. You can ride for hours without getting sore or worn out like some other bikes I have had. There's power on demand, good looks and it handles more like a sport bike than a cruiser. It gets between 36 and 43 mpg. I couldn`t ask for a better...

I rented a Raider a few years ago and rode six hours straight from the Finger Lakes Region of New York to my home in Delaware. The only stops I made were for fuel. I have to say I was surprised how comfortable it was. The first thing you'll notice is the torque. If you have a passenger you'd better have a back rest for them or they'll fly off once you hit second gear. On Route 15 in PA I got 50 mpg. with straight highway driving at 75 mph. I found a great deal on an '08 Raider a few weeks ago. It had 12K miles with Cobra pipes, passenger back rest and luggage rack. I'm looking forward to many years of great rides with good friends. Ride safe/Semper Fi.

Well I have been doing research on the "S" model for a few years now. I'm very impressed on what I read and saw on the showroom floor. i finally found a deal and a half on a "new in crate" model leftover. Since I purchased it in March, 2011 I have been very impressed. I took my time on...

Well I have been doing research on the "S" model for a few years now. I'm very impressed on what I read and saw on the showroom floor. i finally found a deal and a half on a "new in crate" model leftover. Since I purchased it in March, 2011 I have been very impressed. I took my time on break-in and did my own service at the 600-mile mark with no problems. It has plenty of power and a quality fit and finish. I love cruising around on this model both in the city or open highway.

My Raider is a 2008. I bought it in Feb., 2009. I ride when ever the weather lets me. It handles great. The bike speaks for itself. I was looking to buy the M109 and then I sat on the Raider. I told the salesman ring me up on this one. It handles well for all my needs. I have the red...

This is my second Road Star. The first was a 2002 Road Star Midnight. I wanted the fuel injection so I just bought a 2009 model on sale new. I took my accessories off my old Road Star and put on the new bike so I saved some money there. It's a great bike. It has some engine noise on the...

It has some engine noise on the upper end but that seems to be normal for the Road Star. I learned that Yamaha has the best chrome accessories.

The power is effortless, just barely crack the throttle and it moves out. After one year and 7,200 miles later, it runs even better. It is broken in well and after a K & N filter, it just wants to rock. On the highway it accelerates with no problems whatsoever. I have offered my buddies a test ride or trade bikes for a ride but they won't do it. They ride brand x you know. One person did take me up on my offer and couldn't believe the torque that it produced. What can I say, I'm impressed, and that's not easy to do.

I just bought this today from a local Harley dealer who took it in on trade for another cookie cutter Harley. I also traded an '06 Roadstar for it! So I was a Harley guy until I met this love of my life. When I test rode it and rode later, it felt like I was floating down the road. This is the first bike that I could see a guy actually falling asleep on while riding. The lines look like a black 50's Cadillac! The chrome is in the right places, beautiful scallops on the huge tank and a lovely and comfy saddle to straddle. I can only hope the reliability and ease of maintenance is as pleasing!

I bought the Roadliner as my first bike because it is a big air cooled v-twin that looks good. However, after riding the bike several weeks I realize this is far more than a good bike. It's a great bike. The engine produces a ridiculous amount of torque that just keeps coming on endlessly. The engine is so smooth that Yamaha had to build a "pulse" into it so it shook a little. The wide "beach bike" handlebars make have the cables hidden inside them and give you a comfortable and easy riding position. There are two sparkplugs per cylinder for complete ignition and max combustion efficiency. The frame is aluminum so the bike is amazingly stiff and you can throw it around pretty easily for a big cruiser. Like all modern bikes, it's fuel injected, computerized with oxygen sensors and LED taillights. I personalized mine with some cool aftermarket parts but the D&D slip-on muffler made a significant performance improvement. On the downside, gas mileage is only about 44 mpg combined city/highway. I just came back from Daytona Beach bike week and got tons of complements on my bike.
