This is my first scooter and I am impressed. I changed the tires to Pirelli SL26's and that made a difference in handling. I have only obtained the top speed of about 34 MPH. I hope it will go faster (40mph) after the break in period. If not, I will see if the dealer can tune it a little... read more

This bike is the best bike ever. When I'm on a straight away I hit about 47 mph. This thing can fly. It has the best acceleration. I take off like a jet. I have a scooter group and there is about 12 of us. Not one can beat me and they even put performance parts on theirs. I love... read more

My buddy and I both had to get one of these babies after seeing it on the showroom floor. First motorized bike for both. Here it is February with snow on the ground and freezing and we can't stay off of them, 45 miles just yesterday. This has got to be the greatest scooter built. Fun to price ratio can't be beat. I cannot say enough about the performance. We have been doing some riding in the mountains and state parks in the area and have been able to maintain 35 mph up steady steep inclines with no issues. Then for a little fun (as if we weren't already having it) we drive down into the city and cruise the sites. No problem in traffic getting up to speed, these things have great pickup. Everyone should have one of these!

The amazing part about this scooter is that it can support the weight of a heavy guy like me and still have a lot of suspension play. It rides smooth and has great off the line power. This scooter is replacing my 1986 Honda Spree. Compared to my old scooter, the Zuma is huge. I recommend this scooter to anyone and everyone.

I'm going to use it to ride to work when it gets warmer to save gas mileage. It only cost me $2.00 to fill it up and it gets 60-70 mpg... you can't beat that.

Bought my 1996 Seca II in May, 2004 with 9300 miles on it for $2300. I bought it after a 20+ year break from riding. I couldn't have found a better bike to re-learn on. Plenty enough power to keep up with my large cc cruiser friends and also to get into trouble with. Power delivery was very predictable and smooth. Brakes provided good stopping power without fear of locking up the front (locked the rear on occasion but that was due to rider error every time.) Mileage was decent... Low-35, High-55, Avg-43. As mentioned in other reviews, she's a cold-hearted beast and needed a proper warm up to work well. For me, that meant starting her up on full choke, letting her idle while I donned my helmet & gloves (usually 2-3 minutes), set her to half-choke, pull out and keep her in 1st for 1-2 miles and then turning choke off. Not really a pain for me. In all fairness though, this was in 50 degree or higher temps. I'm sure that in a colder climate, she'd be little more difficult to make happy. I did several 200+ mile rides on her without any complaint. Even took her down a few gravel/dirt roads without any problems (not a dual sport by any stretch, but she didn't complain.) I always felt planted and steady on her. Flicking her about in the twisties was always a joy. didn't take a lot to get her to lean over. Maintenance wise, I replaced the air filter, chain & sprockets (at 18,000 miles), dash light bulbs and tires in my 9000+ miles. All repairs were very easy to accomplish. Overall, I couldn't have been happier. My ONLY regret is trading her in for a new bike.

I have an '04 Zuma. Let me start by saying this scooter is capable as it comes from Yamaha, however if you want a BAD scooter... then upgrades are needed. With several thousand dollars invested in my scooter, I can say I have a pretty awesome (originally 50cc) scooter. Pushing speeds over 65mph. I can say that you should check out what parts are available for your scooter and upgrade unless you don't want to or don't need to get over 42mph. This scooter is a definite buy item! If you want 2 wheels and don't want to go crazy on the price, you can get one for less than $2000 out the door with tags and all. You can even add on an extended warrenty for a total of 4 years, unlimited mileage for around $225! Best 2 wheels I've ridden... Loads of fun and would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Can't get over the overall feeling of quality, obviously a top-of-the-line product from a reputable manufacturer. Everything is very smooth and efficient, large tires and great suspension make for a smooth ride. Easily handles regular 60 km/hr street traffic in my city, but not good enough for the higher speed roads. It does slow down on hills, but otherwise keeps up nicely. Very happy with it.
