KTM 250 EXC reviews

Got my 2005 ktm 200exc on a swap from a 2006ktm sxf 250 even trade I’m soooo happy I did!…… I love it, it came with a Clark oversized tank and 2012 front fender and headlight it looks pretty good and rides awesome, tackles everything I give it I feel very confident on it , I’ve had a kdx 220r and this thing walks all over it as far as suspension and power, but comfort the kdx won that battle. Both great woods bikes but I think the ktm is more of a race/enduro than kdx enduro. Show less

For the past 4 years I’ve been a proud owner of my 2007 KTM 250 xcf-w and I must say what an amazing bike! I have ridden many bikes ranging from 2005-2022 and I am a firm believer that this bike sits between a good and excellent bike to own. It punches a huge amount of low end power which absolutely tanks through anything you throw at it. One of my favourite things about this bike is it that you can easily customise it to your preference - with regards to aftermarket parts , plastics, accessories and tuning-making it an outstanding bike to customise to your riding style at a reasonable price. Suspension is super reliable and comfortable , handling is fantastic and the power is amazing. However I do believe there is some room for improvement… the stock kick stand has to be the only worst thing about this bike ( the stand is too short and sits on a very thin metal frame) which compromise’s the chain guard if it breaks. The Radiator as well can be a problem, this year of bike does run hot and the radiator doesn’t essentially help slow down rising engine temperatures, I would recommend if anyone is wanting to purchase this bike sometime soon is to save a bit of money to install a cooling fan onto your radiator- it works like a bomb and prevents any damage to your bike’s engine in the future. Besides that I would consider this bike to be a 9/10 for a junior or senior rider. Hope this helps ! Show less

So far, I have ridden this bike on (lots of single track, desert, Glen Helen, City and Rock Gardens). It handled them all extremely well. The throttle is very smooth for EFI with the JD 6x, otherwise it is lean as heck and a bit too snappy in first 1/4 throttle or so. Once you get the bike re-sprung for your weight, throw a JD tuner on it. You need nothing else than protective gear for the bike and the bling of your choice. One more thing, the clutch is so smooth and easy to pull, it is amazing!!! Show less

The 2004 KTM 200 EXC bike is very quick, very forgiving. I have no complaints. I had the seat shaved. I also bought a few aftermarket parts as I purchased it used. I love my KTM, it has handled with ease every hill, jump and trail I drove on. It has plenty of power and control. It lugs in 3rd just fine if need be. I'm very happy and already considering a 2nd KTM 150SX so I can have another toy. Show less

It's the best of both worlds. I grew up on 4-strokes and this can be ridden like one or gas it and scoot like a 125MX. Maintenance is pretty simple and easy. The bike is so light, I can pick up the rear end and move it over rocks/small logs while I'm on it. Show less

It's easily the best bike I have owned. I did own a 2009 Honda 250R and the KTM has easily blown the Honda away. It's a very comfortable bike but I did find the suspension a little too soft. But with a stiffer spring, it was a lot better. As for power, it beat the Honda hands down and was just a lot easier to throw into corners and jumps. If you're thinking of buying a KTM SXF I highly recommend it, even the 2012 model is excellent -KTM forever. Show less

We have had this bike for almost six years now and the only thing that has ever gone wrong with it was a dead battery. I am more of a two-stroke kind of guy, but this bike will run just like one, and almost as fast as a CR 500. It is the best four-stroke I have ever ridden and handles amazingly. We geared it down to run like a two-stroke and I think it helped it a lot in corners and on hills. I have never been not able to make it up a single hill with it. In the right hands it will go anywhere. KTM makes very high quality products and I am very happy and I would never buy any other new bike other than a KTM. Show less

This bike is insane. I had a Honda 250F and it was good but it lacked power. I don't like to do extreme mods to the engine and all that stuff. All I do is the suspension, but this 250F is insanely fast stock. All I did to it was fit the FMF factory 4.1 silencer and the FMF mega bomb header pipe. I also changed the rear sprocket from a 48t to a 49t because lugging my fat butt around was a little difficult for the bike. But when I put the 49 on, it changed that and I was racing my friend around the track who is a Lorrettas 4 placer. The bike needs the suspension done no matter what weight you are or height. But other than that, no complaints just praises. I love the bike and I recommend it to anyone looking for a new bike. Show less

I've owned the KTMM for a few months now and it's by far the best bike I've ever had!! I used two have a YZF 426 and this bike makes it look like a moped :) Any one know what performance parts I can put on it?? Let me know, thanx.... Show less

This bike is pretty amazing. I'm faster on it than my 06 yz450. It's light, powerful, and handles like a dream. If you're even on the fence about this bike, go buy it!! I race at the local track one weekend, then the next I'm in Moab on technical single track riding. Bike does it all! Love it. Show less
