I have had more motorcycles than Castro's had guns... ranging from British to Harley... I have always had a keen interest in scooters and owned Lambretta and Vespas when two strokes ruled. This 200 GT is an amazing vehicle - with a medium windscreen it is rain friendly and basically a year-round companion. The performance is more than adequate - I have ridden the new 300 GT, which has more power punch from 0 to 50mph, but not an necessary ingredent for more enjoyment... Although my GT 200 carries me and my wife easily - the 300 would be an advantage and recommended for two up riding. I rode my 200 from Hollidaysburg to State College on I -99 / no trouble staying in the 65 to 70 mph zone - The handling above these speeds is not scooter territory - motorcycles rule in the over 50 mph department.

I bought my wife a GT200 for her 50th birthday not knowing if she would really ride it or not. I am a Honda CBR 600 rider and just never thought I would want to ride around on this sccoter. Well, I have discovered that it's easier to ride, carry bags and packages, maneuver in tight spaces and my wife makes excuses to go to the store now. Only two gripes so far, the throttle has a slight delay from applying to going so if you're on a hill, you have to time the grabbing of the CVT to your picking your feet up, and the gas tank, it will overflow easily so don't leave it unattended. All else is great, mileage in the 65-70 range for our first few tanks. We are looking to get another scooter now and sell my Honda.

I have been a Vespa fanatic for about 10 years, but I have owned other motorbikes to commute back and forth from work on the highway, and the vespas were more like a hobby. I continue to own a vintage Vespa to tinker with, but I am having a blast with my new Granturismo that has replaced my sport bike. I can cruise right along with the big boys on the interstate. It has got plenty of acceleration, and I cruise along at 75 mph without straining the engine, I think the top speed must be near 85 mph. I'm getting about 70/75 miles per gallon, I wish the tank were larger, it's only 2.5 gallons, but it has a nice gas gauge, plus a light on the dash to warn when fuel is low. I go about 125/150 miles between fill-ups. I do enjoy the large compartment under the seat to haul things and it is the most comfortable scooter I have ever had (I've had 6 other scooters). I imagine that anyone shorter than I am would not feel as comfortable at stop lights. It is also the safest scooter: The brakes are awesome and the light is really bright. It is all-around everything that I would have dreamed it to be, but it comes at a rather high price.

I have had this scooter for a little over a month now. I ride it to work everyday, and ride all over on weekends. My comute is only 3 or 4 miles one way to work, but many mornings, or afternoons I will take a much longer route just to enjoy the ride. This is a very easy bike to ride. I like not having to change gears, or worry about clutching, or foot brakes. The GT200 has plenty of power to stay up with traffic and will run 55-65 mph very easily. I really have to watch my speed in town because it is so smooth, that you will be over the limits without knowing it. I have also ridden this bike for a few trips of 100 miles. Very good on the back roads, and handles them quite easy. Great scoot overall.

Very fast take off for a 200cc motor. After the 650 mile run, I changed engine oil and Hub oil took it out and opened it up. I saw 76mph on the speedo and then checked it with my GPS and found it to be the correct. I also have a ET4 and it's a great scooter as well. They both get about 60-65MPG. The ET4 will do 60+mph with me on it with no wind. Both scooters have a high Fun Factor and have never let me down in any way.

The ride is pretty good, great for a scoot, and you can corner it pretty low with the stock tires. I use it on a gnarly dirt road daily and it handles it very well. Brakes are fantastic, you need to practice as you need some rear brake compared to most motor cycles unless you ride a heavy bike or a cruiser type. It has a very comfy seat, even for two. The footpegs for the passenger are pretty, but a design nightmare as the rider's feet are in the driver's foot space when stopped. The rider must cooperate by keeping toes way in, which is kind of uncomfortable though.
