Looked for over 6 months for a nice retro style cruiser. I found a used, but pristine Bonneville and haven't looked back to regret it. It is so much more of a machine than the Triumphs of old. You don't have to worry about the bike leaking oil, wiring, ignition, or lighting system anymore, AND, you can work on them without having English Wentworth tools. Unless you are a really large person, this bike has all the UMPH you'll need and it'll get you there quickly and safely with all the modern upgrades. Heads turn when they see you, and you can't keep them away. They all want to get a better close up of the bike. You'll also like all the compliments you'll get like: Nice, what year? I had one when I was -- old. You won't hear that with many modern bikes. Ride Safe.

After walking circles around the new Bonnie at the dealers a few times, I finally took the plunge and brought one home today. I thought that I would like this bike. After all, it's a refined, modern classic, and I've always enjoyed the Brit look. But I wasn't perpared for how well this bike would function. I was a bit hesitant to buy one at first because I didn't know if it had enough power to use at interstate speeds. No Problem. The Bonnie briskly trots right up to 80-85 MPH and feels as if it would be happy there all day long. Also, this is one smooth bike. How the engineers ever got a 360 degree verticle twin to run this smoothly, I'll never know. It's also a great around town bike. The gear ratios are prefectly spaced and they mesh from one to the next effortlessly. The bike is totally comfortable loping along at 45 mph in high gear. My other bike is a Ducati 900ss. I love it as well, but the Ducati demnads that you "ride it". The Bonnie invites you along as it gives *you* a ride. Yes, I'm VERY fond of this new Bonneville. Triumph hasn't just created a very good retro bike, they've created an outstanding, universal motorcle.
