It's a handsome bike, with good power and torque, and a comfortable riding position for my tall frame. The Japanese makers are the masters of performance/quality/value, and they deserve great credit. I bought the British Sprint for a little euro-pizzazz, to have something a little different, and to maintain circulation to my legs. It didn't hurt that the dealership let me test ride it before buying, and that they reduced the price to $9000 (well below MSRP). The centerstand and fuel gage are features that are not exciting, but that I find very practical. Reliability has been imperfect...on the one hand, it cranks and runs whenever I turn the key. On the other hand, it's had 2 recalls, required new sprockets and chain at 5000 miles, replacement of leaking fuel fitting, a new speedo sensor, new battery (normal), and now the front brakes are low-speed pulsing at 7000 miles. Not terrible, but not great either. Overall however, it's a great bike.

This bike is great all around. Fast, looks good and comfortable. Maybe could use a more comfortable seat? However, the problem I am having is two fold. Firstly the front turn signal lights have a problem with the lens falling off. I will have to go back to the dealer for a second time. Triumph needs to fix this design problem. Secondly, the gas gauge will probably need to be replaced; it does not read all the time. Otherwise an excellent bike.

After nearly 6000 miles only problem was a defective clutch cable covered by warranty. Riding around town or 50 mile runs in the boonies is great fun for long distance though I highly recommend a better seat (I am 54 years old and have a sensitive butt. Also the taller shield is a real plus for 70mph plus all day rides.) I went over my bike the day I purchased it with a fine tooth comb everything was tight and right. Fast, comfortable and cool bike.

I have 6500 miles on the ST since mid June and have realy enjoyed the bike a lot. I bought the ST so that I would have a bike lighter, quicker and better handling then my two other bikes, with good comfort. The ST easaly fit my needs. I was very surprised at the leval of prformance the ST's engine and chasis was capable of. I know that there are bikes out there that are quicker, faster etc. But the ST allows me to ride as hard as I want to and do so without complaint. The torque the engine delivers is great, no need to shift constantly to have good power, just turn the throttle and go. Before buying the ST I had considerd the trophy, I road one before I got the ST but after the summer on the ST I road my friends Trophy and was glad that I went with the ST. The Trophy is a little more comfortable but much heavyer and the weight is higher so the bike just was a lot more work to ride. The Trophy definetly has it's place but it is not for me. As you can tell, I am very happy with the bike why the four star rating. Well the only disipointments I have are with the quality controle at Triumph. I have ridden Hondas for 25 years and I am used to the turn the key and forget it ride style. With the ST I have had several little things to deal with and all could have bean avoided. some of the things are: loose hoes clamps causing coolant leeks. Wire connectors not securely connected, causing the turn signals not ot work. headlights not ajusted at all. Mostly things like that but it bugged me that I had to work on the bike the day after I got it home. After a couple weeks of that stuff it has bean ridding bliss ever since. So if you are looking for a bike that handles and goes very wel. And that you can put a lot of miles on in a day, My wife and I run 300 to 400 miles in a day on our bikes, the ST is a good choice. And the reasonable insurance and 50+ mpg fuel econonomy are just a bonus. And you won't see one at the pump every time that you fill up.
