Had tested it unrestricted (76 bhp), now driving it restricted due to law here, performance is still excellent up to about 80-85 mph, then can't go any faster due to restricted engine. Will give an update on reliability later.

Bought the Kawasaki Zephyr 750 last year (1992 model). Easy 100mph performance, even uphill! Top speed is 120~130mph. Engine produces about 80hp, with about 70hp at the rear wheel. Beware of a problem with the cylinder base gasket leaking; dealers will replace it with a metal gasket (upgrade) which is a different type than the original. Had this done last fall, no problems so far! The engine is very responsive with no dead spots, a wide torque range, and easy starting hot or cold. Would highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for the very best standard type 750cc motorcycle! This motorcycle is easily capable of cruising at 70~80mph without overstressing the engine! The chrome exhaust pipes never turn blue even on the hottest summer days! The new Kawasaki ZR-7 which is new for this year is quite similar to the Zephyr and should perform about the same, however there is less chrome on it.
