i owned mine for 5 or6 years . i loved that bike. did only minor customizations. on the highway or back roads that bike performs. of all the bikes available at the time it was no decition, that was it for me. looking at it or riding it was just as enjoyable. It never let me down and took little maintenance, mostly done by myself exept tune ups due to having 4 carbs. easy to shim the valves, adjust the chain, change oil and filter etc. That bike ran smooth and you could shift at 9000 rpm as much as you wanted. we would ride the cloverlief at the highway late at night and go round and round getting on and off, great fun. it was the first real superbike and blew the compatition off. it would eat a honda 750, norton camando or suzuki 750 for lunch. drag or road race no problem. i rode it untill i left it out one night and poof gone, dumb on my part. i would recomend itto anyone but at this point if your looking you iether had one or wanted one back in the day. i cant ride anymore but if you can and this was your dream bike, get it. its an all around great bike to own. \

Before making a purchase I reviewd a lot on youtube about the klr650.. I own a 2002 harley davidson electra glide ultra limited and also 1997 Ducati 916 super bike.. Both different rides and then I started getting interested in the dual sport bikes and the different ride they offer... There are a lot of choices where some are really good on roads but not that great on trails and vs versa.. After reviewing the klr650 that became my choice and I purchased a new 2017. It isn't the very best on the road and it isn't the very best on the trail but its good on both and why I made the choice not to mention its a proven 20 year bike with no major changes and owners love them... I have to add my name to that feeling also... An added note.. it's important to get your crash bars on it as soon as possible to protect the radiator and engine.. I found a full crash bar from Dirtracks and put both front and back on my bike. They look great, real sturdy, and easy installation...

Technology today is absolutely amazing. This 2012 Ninja 650 is light years advanced from the offerings of the late 70's and 80's when I first started riding. I've owned so many motorcycles over the years and have found the middle weight bikes of today to be where the fun factor is for me in both cruiser and rocket. After all, it wasn't too long ago that a 650 twin BSA, Norton or Triumph was considered a manly beast of a machine. This Ninja will leave those burly bikes of the past for dead in every detail except maybe nostalgia. I currently own a Star XVS950 and bought this to add variety to my daily riding. This Ninja is light, fast, comfortable (inc. passenger seat), nimble, has a solid feeling and just the most all around fun period. The specs, the features and details of this bike are amazing. Bottom line... What a steal! I absolutely LOVE IT! And I promise you will too!
