The power is overwhelming. As much as you want, ever. Make sure you have new tires, always. Make sure your shocks and springs are up to date. Risers on the handlebars, even at 6 feet tall, are great for long cruises. I have taken it across the country twice. Great machine, totally reliable. Show less

I have a 1977 KZ1000.I bought it new.I have had a lot of bikes but I always keep this one.I sold a 1977 sportster in 77 to get it and it was the best decision I ever made.It has a 1170cc motor with 55,000 miles on it.I just ate up a V-max and a new V-rod the other day.I also ride a ZX12 but seeing their faces after the old Kaw got em was priceless. My 77 is very strong. With a 1075 kit, big webcams, Dyna ign., 34 Mikuni flats, and undercut tranny...I've beaten 1100 gsxr's, 9R's, R1's. The only bikes that have beaten me are the Hyboos, XX, and 12R. And who says and old Kaw still can't outrun these plastic bikes. Show less
