The Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom is one of the sturdiest cycles on the road. The power to weight ratio is great. It’s a sold bike. Other than oil changes and tire replacements, the only maintenance I’ve done in 45,000 miles is change out the stator, which was very easy to do. The fuel injection is a huge benefit. I get 50-52 mpg on the highway. And the Kawasaki comes with a fuel gauge on the console so there’s no having to do math to figure out when to fuel up, a feature left of other makes of bikes. The fuel cap is placed at the uppermost part of the tank so there’s no spilling onto the paint job or tank bag whereas many makes put it in the middle of the tank. I’m on my third Kawasaki Vulcan 900 after putting 60k on one bike and 45k on the second. For a guy 5’ 6’’ and 175 pounds, it’s the perfect size and handling. And adding a passenger doesn’t bog it down. I ride it year around. I have plugin heated jacket and gloves for the 40 degree weather. Other than in rain or snow, I’m on the bike. It handles cold and hot weather almost the same. This bike is one fine cruiser. Show less

For me the bike was an easy ride the weight was like nothing I would recommend it for any first time rider it didn't have the extra power to make the front wheel want to come off the ground. It was durable it was comfortable I rode it ALOT and still live it today although that extra power would have been perfect but over all was happy with the bike and so we're all my friends that ride it everyone wanted to buy it from me. The ZX9R is a fantastic sports / touring bike that has sharp handling, braking , a great fuel range and fantastic ergonomics; today’s sport bikes are anything but comfortable and are built with a track focus in mind. Another point is insurance is very reasonable because of the sports touring designation from insurers. Like any other motorcycle, maintenance is of upmost importance for safety and reliability. Keep the ZX9R tuned and maintained properly and you will be rewarded with mile after comfortable mile. The only downside is some people don’t like carburetors because they don’t understand them but they are reliable as long as they are maintained properly and filters changed on a regular maintenance schedule. As a female rider was a great buy! Adjustable height added so I could touch the ground. Controls to "dummy down" the traction, power modes, and ABS make it a great bike for new or experienced riders. It saves the money of not having to buy a bigger, more powerful bike later since you can have a 400 and 750 all in one! Show less

Bike was ridden last year and was perfectly fine. Fairings need a little bit of work with the side lights. Bike is solid just under 26k miles. Bike was own buy me for very little time. will take best offer to. Show less

This dealer pre prices before looking at the bike when they get it from auction. They then do necessary repairs to make it profitable to sell, mark it at just above reasonable price then tack on another $2000 in fees. Saying the customer has to pay for them buying a busted bike, fixing it so they can even sell it, charge you for them cleaning it and doing typical cost-of-ownership maintenance, plus doc fees. Doc fees and taxes I get. But it's gross they put it at a somewhat ok price to get people to call then throw $2000 on top last second and talk to you like you're dumb because you know that's scummy. If you advertise a bike for $6,999 and then say the out the door price is $9000 then just put it up for $8500. Oh but that wouldn't be a good market price for a 2014 zx10r with over 20k miles, huh? Amazing build quality, incredibly comfortable ride, plenty of power to spare, durable, reliable. An incredible motorcycle. A wonderful motorcycle for your second cruiser. Too much bike for a new rider. Show less
