To a lake and spend a weekend fishing It has saddle bags and is a dream to ride it is fast and will be a dream to ride for a weekend trip to where ever you decide to go. I have become too old to ride it like I use to but if you dream of a fun bike and want a dream ride come by it and take it for a ride home. I absolutely love this motorcycle. I test road one during the motorcycle weekend and decided that the white 1 with the black and red is the 1 that I wanted. This bike is very responsive. Quite comfortable, even though I'm 5 foot 10 tall. It is also heavy enough to withstand large winds. The hmm shocks and back entire bike shock system is entirely adjustable. I had my husband adjust mine for my weight. Heights and writing style, which was semiaggressive but not so much that every bump, is gonna hurt my back. This bike hugs corners if you're looking for a ducati and you don't have the money this is the one! The only thing that I don't like about it is that when you turn the bike off, there's a lock, the location to lock the steering column and then slightly after that is lock with the headlights on for whatever reason. If you put it on that your battery dies and it's just yea, a couple millimeters difference, that is my only complaint. I get so many looks on this bike.It's not even funny Show less

Well made machine with excellent mechanical craftsmanship. Reliable and smooth riding. Heavier than some bikes in its class but still handles very well. I purchased a second saddle for riding comfort. My bike has the Rotrex supercharger and the 1200R engine package. A real blast to ride. Show less

Wonderfully balanced motorcycle. A joy to ride and very reliable. Turns heads wherever you go. The suspension is wonderful and the center of gravity makes this handle with surgical precision. Gobs of torque from the 1200 vertical twin. With the right exhaust has a menacing sound. Show less

After riding large motorcycles for the last 15 years, Gold Wings, Rune, H D Softail, I decided on a smaller bike since I live in the mountains of central California. I liked the looks of the Thruxton and bought a nice used one with 3000 miles on it. This bike is quick, light, and has a broad power band. It has a semi sport bike seating position and a rather firm seat. The gear box is smooth and easy to shift with an extremely light clutch. As a rider with 50 years of riding the back roads of California this bike took me back to my youth. If you are looking for a bike that looks different than the run of the mill crotch rocket, with great handling, and an engine that is not fussy about what gear your in, this could be the bike for you. I've owned everything from RZ350's to Husqvarna 510 Supermoto's to a Triumph Scrambler to a Yamaha R1 and several other bikes as well. I tour, do several track days a year and ride MX so I would consider myself a pretty well-rounded rider. I bought my Street Triple at dealership in Whitby, Ontario, Canada in the fall of 2012. I couldn't believe the torque and horsepower that the triple motor could make. It handles lightning fast like a Supermoto and hauls like a Superbike. I have already ridden from Toronto to New Brunswick and back, and just recently returned from a trip to Tennessee and North Carolina. I'm sure there may be more comfortable touring bikes, but the Street triple really is that versatile. This bike definitely is going to be around for the long haul. Show less

I started riding motorcycles on the road in 2006, started on an '02 GSXR750. I learned a lot on that, but one day I rode an SV650s and never knew what a bike like that was capable of. I thought I was on the right bike, for LIFE, but then I saw a street triple R and feel in love all over again. I didn't need to ride it, I knew it was a go as soon as I laid my eyes on it. I rode it on 18 mountains in Laurel Springs and was dragging knee in the first turn just cruising, it handles like NO other! I hope this bike is the last for me for 20 years, because it's everything I want/need for the mountains of NC/TN. Show less

It has a smoothly responsive engine and handling, the bike is powerful yet controllable. It turns heads with its looks and burbling, muscular sound. It's a great combination bike for track riding or touring/commuting. The seat is pretty unsupportive, and the steering lock is very limited. A few seals had to be replaced by the dealer and they had problems with the regulator/rectifiers that are now solved. In the final analysis this bike has instant classic written all over it. First off, let me say this bike is not for someone who does not want speed. It's super fast on the road, super light, super smooth and the power is addicting. The symphony of pistons is incredible. The only gripes I have are with the steering stops and speedometer. It is very hard to maneuver around in the garage and the speedometer is hidden behind the cables while you are seated. Now for the shocker. I just traded it in on a 2010 Bonneville. It was just too fast for my self control. Show less
