I had been looking into the dual sport bikes for about a year now trying to find something nice at a reasonable price. I had found my 93' DR650 about a month ago and I just can't get off the thing. It's so much more fun than I had expected out of a dirt bike made for the streets. Massive power at the low end and purr's like a cat at 80 mph. I found mine with 9000 original miles and had been kept up very well. I paid $1700.00 and knowing what I know now, I would've deffinately paid more. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! A must for city commuters who like to get around and have fun while doing it.

Hi I have a 99' Dr650se I love it. It has over 20,000 miles and is still running like it's brand new. I put springs, exhaust, M21's, Renthals, and a lot of love. On the street nothing can really accelerate as fast. In the dirt tons of power. Geared right this bike would go over 120mph. I've had it up to 110mph. I Lowered the gearing for some wheelie fun 1 off the front and two on the back. Have fun

I bought a barely used DR650 for $2900 in 2000, a bargain I couldn't pass up.But after riding the bike for the last 8 months,I'm a little dissapointed. The bike is a well balanced bike, but the gearing and carbeuration are definitely more street oriented than dual sport. The same could be said for the suspension. But,ironically, the seat is nothing but a pain in my ass!Combined with very upright, cramped, seat to bars ergonamics,I can barely ride 60 miles on the street.A pitifully small gas tank is another drawback. On the plus side, the big air/oil cooled single starts easy, runs strong and cool, and cruises at 80 for as long as my butt can take it.I've thought about upgrades, like a pipe, airbox mods, new bars,a small PD style fairing,a bigger gas tank, etc. Then I thought about the expense and figured I might as well get a KTM LC640 Adventure R.Now we're talking!

This is the sixth motorcycle I've owned and the best one, so far. It's a blast to ride on the street and more nimble in the dirt than I had expected for a bike this big. It's even fun on the highway at 70mph and comfy enough for short trips.
