There is no doubt, when it comes to Street Rockets, The GSX-R Series is Top Dog! All riders favor the bike that they ride, but when it comes to a balance of handling, weight, speed and just raw power, the GSX-R is it. I just bought a 600, and I know it's not a 1000 but if you are looking to buy a bike, it would be a wise decision to do your research. If you buy a Gixxer, you won't regret it.

This bike is it.. I have the K4--I love it, My son has the 04 R1, it is a very good bike too. But I would not trade the gixxer in for it. All the 1000's are very good bikes, it's what you want in a bike. The zx10r is fast, the cbr1000rr is very stable, the R1 is fast and also eyecandy.. But the old... read more

I just bought my 2004 GSX-R1000, coming off a 600 and I tell you this thing handles just as good or better. Many said it's too much power or too big, but this beast is oh so graceful/responsive. Yet it can turn into a woman scorned in less than 7 seconds. If this isn't the fastest bike anymore, then overall speed and handling makes it the overall super bike out there in my opinion.

This is my 4th Suzuki street bike and the fastest bike I've ever ridden. This bike folds space! I know it's not the fastest bike out there right now but who cares! It is more than fast enough for me. With the Yoshimura exhaust it just howls! It has great stock suspension and seat, which I don't need to change. I've changed the clip-ons out to a standard bar for a better riding position and have a touring windscreen (still needs to be higher). It is just a wonderful performing bike! Passing is just point and shoot. The stock seat is just great but the riding position for daily use is a bit uncomfortable. The stock mirrors only show what's to the side and your elbows. These things can be fixed cheaply. I would also have the fuel injectors remapped to make it less lean in the lower end. The standard setting to pass DEQ makes the throttle a bit hair-trigger. Outside of this what is not to like? It's just a wonderful bike.

I've been riding for a couple years and have grown very fond of the GSX-R model bikes. I've been riding for a couple years and have grown very fond of the GSX-R model bikes. I'm not the most knowledgable person when it comes to bikes, but I have my basic understanding and love of riding which will take the average rider far enough. I started out on a 2001 Gixxer 1k (stupid I know)purchased a GS-500 and then received my Gixxer 1k for an engagement ring. I'm now in the process of looking for a newer 1k. I went and checked this bike out last night and found it to be in beautiful condition. Very few minor cosmetic scratches on the tank, front fender and left rear undertail. The clutch seemed a little more sticky than I recall others being, the chain needing to be cleaned and tightened just a little. This is a beautiful bike and we all know it has a reputation of being a beast. There is absolutely nothing more satisfying than knowing you're riding a bike that can eat most other bikes for breakfast. It's a beautiful thing! The next owner of this bike is going to have a great time on it. I feel bad for the guy that traded it in.

This is my third bike and I stepped up to it from a V Star 650 and it was a pretty big jump, performance wise, but I got the hang of it. I recently got it broken in but I had a tire changed because of shipping damage so now I have to break in the new rear tire so I haven't gotten on it yet. But after the first service it felt faster and much more potent. It sounds more aggressive than before and it wants to go faster but I am restricting it until the tire is broken in. I did notice a bit more power from takeoffs at stoplights and a higher acceleration rate at highway speeds. It my not be the fastest anymore but it is still the KING GIXXER, and it's not giving up without a fight.
